Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church

I've recently made a couple PBs for my use from online documents. Most recently the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church from:

I think I would still be allowed to use the text from their publicly available site to make and use a Personal Book for myself, but I don't think I can post a public link to my version of their file. Perhaps I could email the file to anyone interested?

I created about 50 regular expressions to transform the online Vatican HTML into a nice Logos-ready document (headwords, orderly header tree, links to CCC, etc.). So I'm sure I could share these formulas/steps I wrote and you could use them yourself to make your own. So email me if you'd like either the recipe for transforming the HTML for Logos, or if you'd just like the docx (or HTML) I made.

Hopefully the regular expression cleanup I've done will also mostly apply to other Vatican documents. Next up will be Evangelii Gaudium...

My links to Logos CCC are functioning strangely though. Hovering over them shows the regular popup but it shows the reference twice. For example hovering over the ref to CCC 9 shows:

(Note that I get the same duplicate popup using both links and Logos syntax. And although for testing I have 2 syntax for both single and range, the error happens even if I only have 1 of any of the 4 as the document, so the existence of the other links isn't causing the issue.)

I know it's been years since your original post but I just read it and am interested to find out if you were able to get permission to email a copy of your created PB of Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church? If yes, I was hoping you'd please kindly send a copy to me?

Welcome to the Logos user forums! You'll find a lot of useful information on using Logos here, also an occasional heads-up on good deals, new resources, etc.

Typically if a forum user wants others to know their email address, they'll post it on their Faithlife profile page. Michael does not have his posted, but for future reference, you can see someone's profile by clicking on their name in the post. Then click About on the left navigation bar. Scroll down to see if there's a email listed under Contact Info.

Also note that clicking on the user's picture/avatar takes you to a page that lists their forum posts.

One last forum tip: the best way to search the forums is to Google: search subject site:community.logos.com

The response I got included:

If L.B.S. allows for personal use to do so we have no objection however, you are not authorize to use documents different from those purchasing by them even if available on the Vatican site; duplicate; make online sources; link and share it.

Then I replied with the following and asked for confirmation. Unfortunately I didn't receive an answer:

I think that means that:

1) Anyone can take the online HTML directly from the Vatican site and make a personal L.B.S. book just for themselves.

2) No one is authorized to share their edited file of any Vatican-based personal book that they have made. (We cannot share the final HTML, DOCX, PDF, etc)

3) I can post this link to instructions and the regular expressions I made so people can use my regular expression macros to quickly make their own books:

My regular expressions in the shortcuts.xml are 99% based just on the HTML formatting and not visible text. (The only exceptions are a couple headers: "The joy of the gospel" "Mary, Virgin and Mother", single words like "INDEX" "Part" "Section" "CHAPTER", and references such as the books of the bible)
