Reading cycle for Vatican II documents

Spread out over 1 year as per Diocese of Toledo plan; I repeated the list in year 2015 so that one doesn't have to catch-up ... simply pick up when you want and spend 12 months reading. Do people want a faithlife group for discussion?

Note I built this as a Reading Cycle because I can't build it as a Reading Plan. There are a few days where I couldn't even do it correctly as a Reading Cycle ... so if the reading is Perface, Conclusion or Explanatory Note you must pay attention in order to read the right sections.

No fancy formatting - sorry.

This is great though I'm embarrassed to admit I don't know how a cycle differs from a plan. Also don't understand why this won't work: I went to LOGOS desktop and created my own reading plan of the Vatican II documents by changing the default (NABre) to Vatican II documents and set the plan for weekly. I'm a Logos newbie so excuse the dumb questions.

Tom, in this case your's is certainly not a dumb question - I suspect few Logos users could answer off the topic of their head.

A Reading Cycle is a type of lectionary used for none Biblical texts. It has the disadvantage of not appearing on the Home Page if you use a lectionary and not making allowance for checking off items as read. However, it is the only way to specify precisely what is to be read and not have Logos try to smooth the reading load.

To create it on your machine you download the file and optionally the cover. Then under tools you open Personal Books. Be sure to set type to Reading Cycle. After successfully compiling, you'll have the Reading Cycle.

I set up a special layout for it with a cited by pane that includes the Catechism and recent Encyclicals so that I can easily see where Vatican II passage has been referenced.

As a Confessional Lutheran I won't be using your work as a Reading Cycle; however, I am wondering whether it might not be put on the HomePage if the user were to desire it???

Will probably look at this "Opus" of yours now and again for the Information and Material it provides! I am constantly surprised at the volume of your productions ... *smile*

It seems to me that I had this one on my HomePage ... at least for a while ...

It is treated like a lectionary on the Home Page. Unfortunately, provisions have been made for only one lectionary - a bad assumption all around. So one can't get the Reading Cycle to show if you have a lectionary with higher priority. But, yes, it behaves like Daf Yomi.

Of course, I'd love to be wrong ... to find Logos had changed this and I just hadn't noticed.

I am succeeding - but slowly as there are a number of strange behaviors ... I have to carefully check each piece and occasionally have a great deal of trouble getting particular units picked up.
