Well ... I think there are useful things to be gleaned from the material.  It's always been helpful to me to appreciate that the church is in the world (not of the world).  From this I understand better the engagement with society, as a Christian, is improved by an understanding of the philosophies of the age.  Also, I usually enter a deeper level when I have "smaller bites" of information presented to me over a period of time.  And then, there is the application of a subject to a teaching moment.  To me, all of these aspects point to the value of the Noet Philosophy Media Presentation.  You have two main categories:

    - Quotes from the many influential philosophers through the ages

    - Timelines of the philosophers that can be applied with church timelines of various types

To me, those two aspects go together nicely to provide an overview of what's going on in the world we live and a reflection on the changes that the church comes into contact with.

Hope that helps.  Let me know what you think.

Steve, you're exactly right with your evaluation. The Noet Philosophy Presentation Media resource is designed to do two things: (1) provide a visually interesting introduction to the history of philosophy (note that the quote slides chronologically present this history with significant quotes from philosophers in the ancient, medieval, modern and postmodern eras), and (2) provide a visually interesting resource for teachers/lecturers who teach in this area (the "Send to PowerPoint" feature allows you to export individual slides into other file formats for presentation).

I invite further feedback/comments about this resource. With this resource, we aimed to develop a product that serves both individuals in personal study contexts as well as teachers and professors in classroom contexts.
