Mobile Ed Logos 6
Questions:
1.How does Mobile Ed plan to integrate the new version Logos 6 within the existing video courses that were released using Logos 5?
2. Specifically- many segments of the courses involve examples based upon Logos 5 are they going to be updated to demonstrate Logos 6?
3. Are the new courses that are about to be released going to use Logos6?
4.Particularly I think the Academic Training videos by Morris Proctor absolutely will need updating - is that in the works? The Quick Start in Logos 6 is good but not nearly as in depth.

Hi Gerald,
I manage the screencast portion of Mobile Ed. I'll do my best to answer your questions.
We will still be releasing some new courses with screencasts in Logos 5 and the remaining future courses with screencasts in Logos 6.
The new courses that will be released with screencasts in Logos 5 are:
- The remaining courses in the Missions and Church Planting Bundle
- The Text of the Bible Bundle
- Witherington's The Wisdom of John (NT221)
- Gary Thomas' Introducing Spiritual Formation (PD201)
- Craig Evans Bundle
We did not record these in Logos 6 because they were already in the production queue and we didn't want for people who had pre-purchased them to wait any longer than is absolutely necessary.
Screencasts for courses that release after those courses have been and will continue to be recorded using Logos 6; including:
- Litfin's Western Civilization (CS201)
- The Eric L. Johnson Pastoral Counseling Bundle
- Bobby Conway's Introducing Evangelism (ED121)
- The Apologetics Bundle
- The Studies in the Gospels Bundle (except for NT252, NT253, and NT311 as they were either part of a previous bundle or already in the production queue)
- Doug Moo's New Testament Theology (NT305)
- the Between the Testaments Bundle
- Longman's Book Study: Exodus (OT306)
- Bock's Learn to Study the Bible (BI100)
At the moment, we are looking into what would be involved to update the screencasts into Logos 6 and how it would affect the production of new courses. There is a good deal of cross functionality between Logos 5 and Logos 6 and many of the changes that affect screencasts revolve around terminology, user interface placement, and base package resource changes. Therefore, a good deal of the screencasts made with Logos 5 in mind will also work in Logos 6 (they just won't show off all of Logos 6's cool new features/capabilities/resources).
I believe Morris Proctor is working on video training for Logos 6 and we are hoping to have it available in Mobile Ed. If we are able to produce it, I'm not sure whether it will be an update or a new product.
Along with the Quick Start, I really suggest following our Youtube channel for video tutorials on Logos 6 (or periodically check our training page).

I hope that Logos does keep this courses up to date. Perhaps the difference between L5 and L6 are not great, but what about when L7 or L8 come out? The differences between L4 and L5 were great enough to generate quite a few complaints about the earlier "Learn Greek and Hebrew" course.
On a related note, what about updates to the course readings. It would be a shame to not update Dr. Heiser's courses with readings from his new books coming out in early 2015. http://drmsh.com//?s=unseen+realm&x=4&y=5 The updating of suggested course readings should not be too difficult and the additional sales this would generate would cover the labor cost in part or in whole.
While I am at it, what about Journal article? Every course I have ever taken has had required Journal article readings. Now that Logos is committed to publishing large numbers of Journals this would seem to make sense.

Thanks for the informative reply. Hope Morris does an update- his presentations are great but very pricey and the Mobile Ed was a very recent release.
Mobile Ed is a great product- keep up the good work!
