Desktop App stuck on "Preparing to download"

OS X 10.10.1 on a late 2009 iMac

I purchased the Tanakh and Rabbinic Judaism Research Library and downloaded the mac software on the receipt screen, but after installing I can't seem to get past:

I'm unsure as to what is downloading at this step and any help would be appreciated!  (Are logs even possible at this point?)

    Ok,  I did not properly heed "This may take a while..."

    ...Now I'm on to the monster download step!

    I was about to complain about a 2 hour preparing library before it finally began indexing. I am a bit suspicious.
