Hebrew thought patterns

I'm looking for a resource that shows the difference between us (Western civilization) and ancient Hebrews.

This book is very good for getting into the mind of someone in the ancient near east..

It's not Hebrew-specific, and a bit conversational, but Misreading Scripture Through Western Eyes is quite good as entry level.

Milkman, you crack me up. Now I have to clean up the table. I suppose finding how we think is going to be trouble enough. But tracking down the 'ancient hebrews' for answers. That's going to be a toughy.
Oddly enough, my leapard spot book is exactly on this subject (search 'leapard' in Logos.com). It's really quite funny, since the scholars are all scrambling just to guess who's writing (much less who's reading). I haven't finished but I think he's headed for Africa for the nearest match.

Please note that to make a link active we need to add a space at the end.

Thanks Ben, just bought it. Looks interesting. As the intro., says; a kind of intro to this way of thinking. Wouldn't mind something more in-depth as well.

Yah YOU crack me up
You say you had to or have to - depending if it's not done or done already - clean up the table, but did you spill the milk?
searched for 'leapard' in logos.com and my library and came up with diddly. So help me out sista.

Ok. So you're being kind and hinting I can't spell. 'Leo the lion!' 'Leopard ... not leap-ard!' Oh, for the days of grade school. Kipling.

Unfortunately it was one of those funny shapy wine glasses that tip over at the slightest good joke.
The above book is slow going and 'scholarly' but speaks to a lot of common sense questions that you wanted to ask in Bible class when you were in 7th grade.

Just picked it up.
by the way I really hope that funny shapy wine glass was empty when it tipped, but more so, I really hope that it was recently full then emptied. [B]Three great suggestions - one I already had and two I just purchased. Now back to watching the Victoria's Secret modelling show from London with my wife.
