Question for Faithlife employee re: NT221

I just watched the video on note taking (Segment 3). I have rarely used favorites, instead relying on note files. But I decided to try the Favorites methods for a portion of my notes where it has a distinct advantage. Having converted 7 notes to Favorites I realized I might be making a big mistake. On a clipping file, if my cat deletes something it is no problem - there is the undelete documents feature. However, Favorites does not create a document. So what is the undo delete function? If there is none, why do you promote favorites as a means of note taking? In short, what am I missing that makes Favorites preferred or even acceptable? If it has a reasonable recovery path that I'm missing I can make strong arguments for it being part of a note taking process.

    You can't undelete deleted favorites.

    Yes, so why is Faithlife in mobile education recommending them for "note taking"?

    Thanks for the questions. The main benefits of Favorites are organization and ease of access. While I don't have a solution for the difficulty of recovering deleted favorites, the screencast highlights your ability to organize notes, clippings, and bookmarks into folders/subfolders. This organization allows for quick and easy access to these notes, clippings, and bookmarks.

    I will send in a request to our development team about the recovery issue to which you and Mark referred.

    Thanks Jon. If you were on the forums a lot (as Mark and I are) you'd know that loss of data can be a real problem for users as in the thread Mark referred to.

    Your cat can delete files?  So can mine.  Wonder how they know?
