To immediately update to the current stable version enter the Update Now command. Otherwise, the app will automatically update the next time it's scheduled to check for updates.

Does the smaller index improve performance ?
That is the important question. We can rebuild the index to make it smaller, but if HD space is not an issue, is there any other advantage in doing so?
I don't expect there to be a significant performance improvement.
How much space would I recover with a new index? Approximately......10%, 20%?
Mine went from 1.06 GB down to .85 GB.
Note that this is just a reduction to the smaller Bible index, not the main index.
Mine went from 1.61 GB to 1.36 GB.
We saw size reduction of up to 25% in our internal testing, but it will depend on the number and type of Bibles (and morph resources) you own.

I was just about to ask about this! I'll wait for L8 and whatever else to download and then rebuild the index... takes forever on my surface pro 3! I'm assuming there is no way to partially rebuild the index?

As Andrew points out above this just affects the bible index which can be rebuild using the command "rebuild bible index"
Note this is just the Bible index. Not a full index.

The application normally partially rebuilds the index whenever resources are added/updated. There's generally no need to fully rebuild the index; it's probably not worth it unless you're critically low on space and getting back a few hundred MB will help.

Well, I have Logos 7.10.0.0019, and it appears this isn't the latest (free) version. So I clicked on the question mark in the software, went to About Logos Bible Software, and in the upper-left there is a Software version (7.10.0.0019) and an Update link. Clicking on it, however, does nothing. What am I missing?

You are running Logos 7.10 and you should be able to get the upgrade to 7.19
Try executing the command "update now" in the command box (top of the screen) and see if that triggers the upload.

Due to Server Security Update on 7 Nov 2018, Logos 7.10 can no longer connect to Faithlife servers (so update now receives network timeout error).
Suggest manual update to Logos 7.19 => https://www.logos.com/install-logos-7

Well, this is weird! I went to download the upgrade that Keep Smiling 4 Jesus gave me, and it stated that I'm already up to date. Oh....kay! So, I checked, and sure enough, it's updated. I have no idea how or when, because everytime I tried, as noted, there was no activity.
