Help Needed On Update From Verbum 7 to 8
I just started with Verbum 7 on my Mac earlier this year having previously only used Accordance.
I'm looking to get the base feature update and move to Verbum 8. But I'm concerned about a few items beforehand:
I have a layout that I really like (a customized version of the default Lectionary) and it's the only one I use - about 5 panes with a few panes having multiple tabs. Do I need to do anything to make sure that layout is still present when I update to Verbum 8? I don't want to loose this layout as I'm very used to it and it's very helpful.
Will my current Bible reading plan still be on the homepage (Mac and iOS app) after updating to 8?
Will all my downloaded books on the iOS app still be downloaded once I install the iOS 8 update?
I currently have 12 open books on the iOS 7 app (bottom of the screen multi "page" icon to the right of the middle Bible icon). Will they all still be there after the iOS 8 update or will I need to make note of all of them beforehand and then reopen them one at a time and redo the ones that are linked after the update?

Hi Patrick,
Jumping in here since another user hadn't replied. The answer to both of your questions is "yes." Your current Bible reading plan will still show on the homepage after updating to 8 and your downloaded books will still be in the iOS app when you update to 8.
Thanks,
Craig

Craig,
Thanks for the reply. The only other question I had on the update was on the desktop and relates to a layout. It's a customized version of the default Lectionary layout and it's the only one I use - about 5 panes with a few panes having multiple tabs. Do I need to do anything to make sure that layout is still present when I update the desktop to Verbum 8 on Mac? I don't want to loose this desktop but if it would get deleted I want to at least take a screenshot or something to help try to recreate it.

If you have it saved as a named layout, it will still be accessible in 8. All of my saved layouts translated just fine into 8.

Thanks SineNomine. Patrick, anything you save, be it a Layout, a Reading Plan, or other personalized resources, will still be available when you upgrade and open up Verbum 8.

David,
I haven't upgraded yet to Verbum 8. I'll report back once I do. (It might be 6-8 weeks before I upgrade. Verbum 7 is very solid and I'd like it to be out for at least a couple of months before upgrading to ensure I don't hit a bunch of bugs that often accompany major upgrades of software in general.

Verbum 8.0 was released on 29 Oct 2018. Anticipating stable Verbum 8.1 release next week (with Home Page Explore customization). Uninformed user speculation is late Jan 2019 for stable 8.2 release (about six to seven weeks later that includes Holidays during two weeks).
Keep Smiling [:)]
