Sermon recording necessities

Proclaim is of tremendous value because of the seamless way it records and uploads audio to SoundFaith. It's really reduced the amount of time necessary to get audio online.

But, a couple of tweaks here and there would be of great value. I'm sure these have been brought up before, but here goes.

First, we need to be able to trim INSIDE the audio. If I cough, or a baby screams, it would be nice to select that bit in the final audio and click "Remove" and have it gone. It's a very basic function. Or, we need to be able to drag edited sermon audio back into Proclaim for it to process and upload.

Second, we need to be able to add audio "bumpers" to the front and back to provide a little more professional result. If we could simply record front and back bumpers that would be automatically stitched onto the sermon audio, it would take the audio up a notch.

Hello,

You can trim audio out of the recording inside of Proclaim. All you need to do is click and drag over the area you want to delete (there will appear yellow indicators on your selection), and then select Actions > Delete.

As for adding in audio elements, it's currently unsupported. You can however, make edits directly to the audio file with a program like Audacity.

Thanks, Justin - I never tried to simply delete a selection; I'm glad that works.

On the second point I wasn't talking about inserting audio into a sermon, but exporting the sermon, editing in Audacity (which is a great app), and then re-importing it into Proclaim. That would be a great feature.

Yep, you can do that! Just follow the guide above, it will show you have to access the raw .WAV recording. Just edit it, make sure you don't change it's name or location, and then re-publish it through Proclaim. To be safe, I would make a copy of it, edit that copy, and then replace the original once it's to your liking.
