Resources for a customized dictionary series for Headword and complex searches.
Ks4J in a post gave details of a customized series he did for IVP dictionaries:
I think is a great idea.
Wondering what other dictionaries would you add if it was you (power user) the one doing the custom series?
Even if not willing to send a dictionary to avoid being taken away from a particular series, please mention which would be a great addition.
Thanks ahead of time for the input.

In that thread at the time I used custom series for commentaries and encyclopedias now I have got rid of all those custom things and just used the priority I set and right now for encyclopedia all my reports are filled with the IVP dictionaries you have here along with Lexham Bible Dictionary and Anchor. These encyclopedias fill all the reports that use bible dictionaries. As a great Southern Baptist I frequently consult Holman and I love the Oxford dictionary for the Christian Church.

To what advantage? Having resources in series is primarily to provide a more complete covering of datatype values e.g. a commentary series, where each volume covers different books of the bible, or a series of OT bible with NT bible. But a series of bible dictionaries? Not unless one knows that topics are (mainly) unique to each volume.

Dave:
If I am not mistaken when typing a Headword, the resource that has that will pop up. Also when searching the series, complex strings can be used to get to good content fast (the reason why I would like preferred resources).

Agree, and that is the paradox, certain resources are very good at treating certain types of topics, there is no one that does all perfect so that is one reason for doing a custom series.
Before when there were not many dictionaries / encyclopedias available, a collection did fine. Now with so many available, a series allows to quickly get to the root of things, to then look for ancillary info.

Correct, but if many resources have it you will only get one; usually the one you are typing into! Then you can use Parallel Resources to get to others; where preferred resources can be in one or more collections.

"complex strings"?
The tagging that Faithlife perform for topics ensures that different names are treated as one e.g. salvation, save, deliverance, deliverer, deliver, "salvation and deliverance". Factbook and Topic Guide will list resources for that topic in order of your prioritization.
A series of preferred resources does not benefit me in either of the two scenarios above.
