Bug or error in LA251 Introducing Hebrew Grammar

In the course LA251 in the Courses Tool on the desktop application, there is a error or bug, I'm not sure what to call it really. But the issue is when you go to Unit 3, it does not feature a drop down arrow for the segments in Unit 3. It begins with the first video lecture "Personal Pronouns", but you cannot see the videos for the other segments. But you can scroll through the transcripts for all of the videos and see all of the links to the suggested reading. What it should have is a drop down arrow by Personal Pronouns and the Definite Article, with drop down arrows for each of the Segments within Unit 3. Drop downs should exist for Personal Pronouns, The Definite Article, Unit 3 Vocabulary, Unit 3 Practice, and Unit 3 Reading Your Hebrew Bible. Then, of course, each Segment is supposed to have a drop down arrow for Textbook and Explore, with Suggested Reading, See Also, and Activities, Guides, and Tools under Explore. But those do not exist for Unit 3 at all

This is a problem at Unit 7, Unit 12, Unit 14, and Unit 15. You can see the first video, but you can't go to the other videos via Textbook as it is in the other Units. Also, under Unit 20 at Unit 20 Practice, there is no drop down for textbook nor is there a drop down for Explore under Unit 20 Practice. So this is a pretty big problem or bug in this course. Could this be fixed, please? Thanks.

Also, one more thing. The course has readings in a Hebrew Grammar, Beginning Biblical Hebrew by Mark Futato. I own the resource, and for the most part, most of the readings are available. However, there are a few places in the course while in the Courses Tool where the Courses Tool shows the locked icon next to the Suggested Reading! But, all of the locked icons are next readings that are in the grammar Beginning Biblical Hebrew by Futato, a grammar I have had for a few years now. Not only that, this locked icon does not show up consistently at all. Here are the places it shows up:

  • Unit 1 Segment 4, Putting Consonants Together, Suggested Reading
  • Unit 4 Segment 20, Overview of the Hebrew Verb, Suggested Reading, Root
  • Unit 4 Segment 25, Unit 4 Reading Your Hebrew Bible, Suggested Reading, 6. Reading (Psa 1:1)
  • Unit 5 Segment 31, Unit 5 Practice, Suggested Reading, 7. Practice: New Material
  • Unit 6 Segment 35, Piel and Pual, Suggested Reading, Piel: Meaning
  • Unit 10 Segment 62, Unit 10 Practice, Suggested Reading, Practice 13: Putting it All Together
  • Unit 16 Segment 93, Piel, Suggested Reading, Piel
  • Unit 16 Segment 95, Piel Imperatives, Infinitives, and Participles, Suggested Reading, Piel Cohortative and Jussive
  • Unit 16 Segment 97, Unit 16 Practice, Suggested Reading, 28. Practice: Putting It All Together
  • Unit 17 Segment 102, Hiphil Cohortative, Jussive, and WCI, Suggested Reading, Hiphil Vav-Relative
  • Unit 21 Segment 125, Unit 21 Practice, Suggested Reading, 14. Practice: Weak Root; 15. Practice: I-Guttural and III-Aleph; 18. I-Yod and I-Aleph

Everyone of those suggested readings is from Beginning Biblical Hebrew, which I own. EVERY OTHER READING from that SAME grammar, does not show the locked icon next to it! So, that is weird. Could you fix this? And before someone asks, I went to Plan Details in the Courses Tool, and it shows that I own all of the resources listed under Suggested Resources. Which means, the locked icon should not show up at all.

Ok, so I just discovered that I have LA251 Introducing Hebrew Grammar listed as a course I started, however, I also have HB101 Introduction to Biblical Hebrew, which shows I have not started HB101. So now I have no idea what in the world is going on here.

Should I just delete the LA251? It appears as though I started it when it had the other name, and then the course name was updated. But, the Courses Tool never updated the one I started. Instead, that was left alone and another course was created in the Courses Tool. So, that's weird.

Also, the issues I mentioned in my first post appear to have been resolved. As in all of it. So, you can just ignore the first post.

I discovered the name change when I searched for LA251 in my library and could not find the course, since I was going to open up the videos and watch them in a separate window. But I could not find anything labeled LA251. Then I went through the courses in my library and discovered the name change, and then I went to the Courses Tool and found HB101.

Sorry for the confusion. When we update a course it isn't updated in the Courses Tool for anyone that has started it there. The update would cause people to lose any tracked progress they have made in the Courses Tool. It sounds like in this case updating the resource broke some things in the older version of the Courses Tool that you started. I'm glad you were able to figure it out. You can delete your course plan for LA251 and start a new one for HB101.

Let me know if you encounter any other issues in the course (not including any typical "issues" one faces when learning Hebrew [:)]).
