Looking for "Notebook": Logos 8.4
I have been keeping notes in Logos -- and for some reason they are no longer showing. One of them has several years of notes.
Online, they appear as "Notebooks" but look like they are empty from the web browser -- but in any case, I don't see where to link this content back into the Windows desktop app.

documents.logos.com does not support the display of the new notebooks. If you want to view your notes from a web browser, try using the Notes tool in the web app: https://app.logos.com/tools/notes

I'm not sure I understand. Can you explain further what you are trying to accomplish?

The Notes tool has been completely overhauled for L8.x. Have you opened the Notes Tool? Make sure the sidebar is open. You will notice that the notes tool is now faceted, allowing you to filter based upon many criteria. If you click on a Notebook, all of your notes should appear.

Hi Andrew
(It's a chore to even get to this forum -- and the reCaptcha is overkill because we're already logged in)
That topic aside: the link you have for the web app shows the notes I was talking about
So my notes are somewhere but doesn't seem to be in the Logos Windows 8.4 interface. Specifically, I had made a shortcut to open the notes when I go to the particular class, and now it says "Guide for this shortcut is unavailable".
However it was keyed for the past years is now being mapped to a "guide" and the content itself is now in a "Notebook"0 -

However it was keyed for the past years is now being mapped to a "guide" and the content itself is now in a "Notebook"Notes used to be (pre Logos 8) stored in Notes Documents - the (rough) equivalent in Logos 8 is Notebooks. And so the shortcut won't work as it would point to the earlier document.
However, you should be able to find the Notebook in the Notes Tool on your desktop by opening the Notes Tool, switching to Notebooks view
clicking the search icon
and specifying the Notebook you are looking for (in your screenshot I think that is "Defenders" - I've chosen a test one)
Clicking that will filter the Notes Tool to just show Notes in that Notebook
If you now drag the Notes Tool to the shortcut bar and create a new shortcut, when you click on it it will open the Notes Tool filtered to that notebook. Does this help at all?

Please expand - what are the issues in getting to the forum and when do you see a reCaptcha? I don't see that at all.

Presumably this is because he is a new user.
Mark - The reCaptcha is needed to prevent spammers. The creation of an account is too simple to prevent it.

Going to respond first to the reCaptcha -- I have implemented that technology for blogs, and I did it at a simple level for authorized users.
In this case, we have perhaps multiple screens of images which I can't always make out -- and therefore looking at so many screens looking for buses and crosswalks. But the real issue you have nailed: reCaptcha is not being used for authentication but rather for volume control.
So if one wants to decrease volume add this extra typing in. Though I think next time I'm going to skip these forums and ask people in the Facebook group (which is a platform not concerned about too much volume).0 -
Graham -- you have fully described the solution to seeing the notes again.
Though I think JT and Andrew provided helpful hints.
Using this new layout, I made a new shortcut and overrode the old one.
And now my new question: how can i reduce these two navigation columns which are stealing screen real estate?0 -

You are the first person I have heard who has had to do such.
The forums are a great place to ask questions and get help from fellow users. If you need help again, please drop by.

If you click that, those two columns should be hidden. Click them again to get them back if / when you need them

Thanks Graham -- substantially the layout is now as it was. Of course, the individual "notes" are arranged into a "Notebook" now instead of previously one long document.
To JT's comment: here is where reCAPTCHA shows for me -- click the box and I have usually seen a series of picture questions. On the last post I did random answers to see what happens, and after a while, it let me in anyway (and I repeated the random selection again just now). I implemented this type of technology on open web forms where users did not log in -- but in this case, the functional advantage is adding a time delay to authenticated users (given that maybe just anyone can make an account here and start posting, and need not be at my financial commitment level to Logos), in hopes of decreasing volume postings.

Thanks for the picture. This is not required for users with a track record. I'll see what I can find out about it.

I probably have no track record -- but would be helpful to allow people who have spent X amount on Logos be exempted.

Please See Bradley’s comment at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/166126/973338.aspx#973338
Sounds like the reCaptcha requirement should disappear for you after a few more posts (sorry I cant quantify “few”)
