Henri Nouwen works (With all these new Products forums, why is there no Catholic one?)

I need a place to post my question:

When are we going to get some Henri Nouwen resources?

He's actually got broad appeal, to Catholics and Protestants alike, so it wouldn't necessarily be something the Catholic product manager should look into, but could someone please find out why it's so hard getting Nouwen? There have been multiple requests out for his works for at least four years, with not a single book of his coming along yet (except Charles Ringma's devotional dialogue with excerpts from Nouwen's work: Dare To Journey with Henri Nouwen).

I for one would buy up anything by Nouwen that Logos publishes. The more the merrier. Along with C.S. Lewis and John Stott, he's the biggest lacuna in Logos's catalogue in my view.

Along with Ladd and Newbigin, it seems like there is a conspiracy afoot to keep these guys out of Logos [li] [^o)]

Please answer… this man had one of the most sound theological minds and purest hearts. His books are treasures.

Logos does have a couple of Ladd's classics: http://www.logos.com/products/search?q=author%3aladd, but yeah more from him would be welcome, and Newbigin indeed!

If there is a conspiracy, I will be sure to root it out and break it up posthaste! [;)]

Seriously, though, my guess is that everyone at Logos would like to see these authors in our format.  I've definitely got some Stott in the works.  I've gone after just about everything that even mentions C.S. Lewis (whether as author or subject).  Newbigin is one of my heroes, I would love to get his stuff.  I'm glad you brought that up, I'll start working on some of his stuff.

I'm looking at a few Nouwen books.

As for Ladd, well, you'll have to bug Gabe ...

Rest assured that I will not rest until I see this dastardly conspiracy broken up and these authors proudly take their place in the Logos pantheon. [H]

    Ben,

I've recently added a whole bunch of suggestions for Nouwen's books to UserVoice. I'm trying to drum up votes to make the case more pressing, but many people on several threads have been asking for his works for years now, so how much more pressing does it need to get?

There are several publishers, so a bundle of all his works would be difficult. But there could be two or three different bundles. The publishers in question are Crossroad, Image, Orbis, Ave Maria Press, and HarperOne, with one by Eerdmans. Faithlife has a few other bundles from Crossroad already, and of course you have a relationship with Eerdmans. HarperOne would be a coup so I hope you can get going with them. As for the others (Image, Orbis, and Ave Maria Press) -- all good Catholic publishers that you should work with too.

Some of Nouwen's best books (from Image) are now published by Penguin Random House (they have three different pages of his books, not all in sync, under different spellings of his name: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/authors/22383/henri-nouwen, https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/authors/22385/henri-j-m-nouwen, and https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/authors/2134102/henri-jm-nouwen).

Orbis still carries a number of his books (no easy link, but a search on their website shows them up, among other things)

And Ave Maria Press still carries six of his books: https://www.avemariapress.com/author/102/Henri-J-M-Nouwen/
