Kingdom of the Cults - delayed?
I pre-ordered Walter Martin’s classic, “Kingdom of the Cults”, a month or so back. It was originally scheduled for release yesterday, then pushed to today, and now I don’t see any date for its release. Does anyone have any info on this one?

I think IVP pushed it back to late May

I see a release date of 4/24 in my order list. When I click the item, it doesn't show..

I'm seeing the same thing. Something weird is going on.

The website says May 24th for IVP and Amazon. It’s probably the same with Logos

Yes, that would be the most logical assumption. It would, however, be nice to get an official word from Faithlife.

In which case you should post in the FLEB forum.

Sorry. Didn’t even occur to me as I’ve never read or posted in that forum. To be honest, didn’t even realize it existed till now. I’m sure now that my question has been moved to the correct forum the answer will come any minute now.

You are right! The pub date changed from the publisher and we updated the website to reflect the new date: 5/21/19.

Thank you, Deborah. Much appreciated.

Is this an updated version? I already have this book in Logos as an e-book, published by Thomas Nelson 2008. What are the differences, if any, between this upcoming publication and the 2008 version?

From Amazon:
In an era of rapid growth of false religions worldwide, Christians need information they can trust. This comprehensive new edition of the leading book on cults will equip you--no matter your background--to understand and use biblical truth to counter false religions, including many that masquerade as mainstream Christianity.
Reflecting the developments in cults and world religions in recent years, this edition, updated by expert Jill Martin Rische (daughter of Walter Martin), gives you the authoritative information you need to know. As our culture becomes less and less outwardly Christian, awareness of the belief systems of those around us has never been more vital.
Readable and reliable for everyone, whether you're a teacher, a pastor, or a regular church attender, The Kingdom of the Cults remains the go-to reference book on this crucial topic.0 -
Anyone know if this is still scheduled to come out today? I've not received it as of almost 4 PM (EST).

I haven't received it yet either. In fact, I cannot even locate it on the ebooks.logos.com site or the logos.com site, when searching by title or author. My order confirmation e-mail still gives me hope, but I am concerned that it may no longer be offered for sale by Faithlife?

The link is still there, but still showing as available to pre-order
The Kindle version is now available so hopefully Faithlife eBooks will follow soon.

But the new link page for the book now gives no specific date for release. It only says 2019. That's not good, imho. Can someone please give us more detail.

They pushed the release date to 23/5

Faithlife eBooks normally release the book pretty close to the release date. It's my understanding that they receive a file from the publisher that then needs no work in order to make the book available. So the only delay is if the publisher overlooks sending the file or if it's corrupted.

Deborah
Any updates on this title? It didn't ship yesterday and now it shows 5/23/19. Was the conversion file corrupted?

I'm seeing on my pre-pub page that this is now listed for release on 5/25/19.

Usually in cases like these were the date keeps getting bumped up a day or two there is a conversion error in the process somewhere. This could be fixed today or it could take weeks... I guess it depends on what kind of error they are getting (if I am correct)

Can we get an update on this delayed resource?

Yes, the file has technical problems and the tech team is looking at it now. First, they will determine what the problem is, and then either fix it, or get new files. It will take a little longer depending on the solution. Thanks very much for your patience!

Any update with a realistic ETA yet? This has been an agonizing wait.
