Does Proclaim work in 16:10 format?
Hi, Donnie. At this time Proclaim supports 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios.
A 16:9 proclaim presentation will be slightly letterboxed on a 16:10 display.
Is 16:10 in the works?
Not currently.
We just dropped a lot of effort on a 16:10 screen to match our 16:10 projector. Sure wish we could use the last 10%! 16:10 would mean you can say you support all 3 common aspect ratios. Is this difficult?
It's not trivial because to fully support it we'd have to add 16:10 versions for all the media that we have created/integrated. Thanks for the feedback though, we'll keep it in mind moving forward.
Hm, thanks for explaining your concern, Scott. I didn't think about your media, because we just don't use it, preferring to do our own design. It's cool that you've got it, but really just seems like "icing on the cake" to distinguish from competition.Having optional media hold back a common aspect ratio really feels like you're putting the cart before the horse. Could you imagine PowerPoint doing the same? It's inconceivable.
How about an override, so folks that want 16:10 can set it. I'd be ok with losing the extreme sides of a background of it filled the whole screen.
Is this still not a thing in 2018? As per Morthminster's comment, we have just spent thousands on a 16:10 high contrast screen and hi res projector. Having Proclaim project at 16:9 makes the setup look half-baked. I didn't even consider that proclaim wouldn't do 16:10 before installing it all.
Hi Paul,Proclaim still supports just 4:3 and 16:9. We plan to support more aspect ratios in the future, but it's quite the project.I'll be sure to pass your feedback along to the rest of the team.
While it doesn't affect me at the moment I am concerned that the team is allowing the (created) media to hold back the modernisation of the program. Surely, at a pinch existing media can just be scaled to the 16:10 format?
I wonder what resolution ratios are needed for the modern LED type displays? Projectors have been rejected in a couple of churches I know of and they are going for monitor arrays. I hope the 'media' will not hold back any program adaptions that might be needed to service these new installations.
Any update on this? I'd love a 16:10 solution and I'm not particularly worried about not having integrated graphics etc.
We just saw this post after we purchased our screen and projector. are there any other options?
Hey guys,
We want to implement this in the future and we have found a few ways. Right now, we truly support 4:3 and 16:9. However, we wrote up a guide on how you can use Proclaim in a double or even a triple wide environment. Here is the article and hope this helps. https://support.faithlife.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007610992-How-to-Use-Proclaim-in-a-Double-or-Triple-Wide-Environment

As we approach the 4th anniversary of the original post is the only conclusion we can come the fact that while the Team may want to implement this they don't want to very much?
Now about 4 months after the fifth anniversary I am glad to announce that Proclaim now supports 16:10! Go to Settings > Display > Hit the gear on the output you want to change and select 16:10 from the size dropdown.
This feature and more are apart of our 3.1 release https://faithlife.com/posts/3083337

It looks like currently foreground images on 16:10 screens get stretched a bit vertically - but other than that I am LOVING 16:10 support so thanks SO much for adding it!
