Note added for all versified resources

With Logos 8.9 there does not seem to be a way to add a note to a verse without specifying a resource. It looks like the way you do this is add the note to the verse/resource and then to view in other versified resource you turn on the visual filter.

Is this the way it works now?

Are you using the Selection menu (left-click) or the Context menu (right-click)?

With the selection menu it creates the note linked to the specific resource while in the context menu, you can select the reference (on the left side of the menu) and it will create the note linked to the verse not tied to a resource

I am using the Context Menu, select a reference... however to view it I need to have the notes visual filter on for other resources to make it visible. I thought at one time it was not the case that you must use a visual filter. Also, the note has the reference anchored to the original resource the note was added.

I may be making this harder than it is, but I am putting together some documentation for a few other Logos users and I wanted to be accurate as to what I was telling them.

    Thanks

Can you post a screenshot showing the context menu and what is selected on the left?

What you are describing is what I would expect if you had some text selected and not the reference

If you selected  Reference Ephesians 3.1 on the left side and then Take a Note, you do not have the anchor tied to the resource AND there is no anchor text to display. To view in ANY resource you must select Notes and Highlights in Visual filters.

If you selected  Selection ..... on the left side and then Take a Note, you will have the anchor tied to the resource. To view in other resources you must select Notes and Highlights (Corresponding) --> but it will be restricted to English resources with a reverse interlinear.

That answers my question. Thanks Dave & Graham

    This is very strange

When I have the reference selected and "take a note"

the resulting note is not tied to the specific version - and I wouldn't expect it to be

So I don't understand the behaviour you are seeing.

When you rest your mouse on the "Ephesians 3.1" in the note pane you see the following popup.

I was reading too much into the "ESV" of this popup as well as I wanted to verify that the only way to view in other resources you must select Notes and Highlights in Visual filters in the appropriate resource(s)'

So, it works like you and Dave have explained.

    Thanks
