SUGGESTION: Rename 'Accessibility' Subform

The current name of the Accessibility subforum is apparently vulnerable to all kinds of contextual conflation, resulting in a great many posts related to internet access, resource access, etc., which are unrelated to Logos users with disabilities.

I suggest renaming the subforum to 'Access for the Disabled', or if that's too blunt, something that more precisely defines its purpose. Additionally, I suggest that non-disability-related posts be moved to the appropriate subforum and that this initial post be pinned to the top.

Thanks.

I agree. In fact I am appalled about the seeming attitude of Faithlife towards disability. It seems they will only listen to the majority voice (eg UserVoice). Seeing people with disabilities are not the majority, I will be pleasantly surprised if any action it taken, but we can hope . . .

Welcome to the forums, AndrewG. [:)]

I think the biggest challenge for this particular forum isn't the name... it's that scarcely anyone posts anything at all in it.

It's almost the end of 2019; a grand total of eleven threads in this forum have had any posts in them during this entire calendar year. Most people who use these forums probably either don't know it exists and/or have forgotten.

The problem of posts in the wrong forum is by no means limited to this forum. The Logos 8 and General forums regularly get threads that belong in the other, and many Suggestions do not get put in the Suggestions forum (or, if appropriate, the denominational product forum). Meanwhile Catholic Products gets lots of threads about fundamental software functionality, and Logos Desktop Beta and Logos 8 Mobile Beta forums get bug reports that have nothing to do with the "Beta" aspect, threads that ought to be in the Logos 8 Mobile App forum end up elsewhere, etc. That's what happens when innumerable users, most of whom visit rarely, start threads in a collection of dozens of forums. It's not the worst problem to have, all things considered.

er.. ah.. after all the effort I've spent convincing a foster son with cerebral palsy who is legally blind that he is not disabled?

    Thanks for the welcome.

I've been using Logos for a long time (version 1.6). My purpose supporting the renaming of this forum is linked to the original reason it was created:
    https://community.logos.com/forums/t/120898.aspx :

"The Accessibility forum has three purposes:

    1. To garner user feedback, helping us prioritize development for improved accessibility to impaired users.

    2. For testers to evaluate accessibility and report bugs, especially on new features.

    3. For Logos users to get help with questions on using Logos in accessibility mode."

The low number of posts probably indicates the lack of support for those who are impaired. See the post by Sarah Blake LaRose  as an example https://community.logos.com/forums/t/180385.aspx .
