iOS 8.11.0 iPad Pro & Pencil issues
Using an iPad Pro 12.9 with an Apple Pencil I’m having significant input lag when highlighting in various resources. I have also had times where it simply doesn’t work or just brings up the magnifying glass. I end up having to close and reopen the app to get it working again.
in general im finding the pencil experience to be very problematic, and since it’s something I’m using more and more it needs to be improved on.
after 9months of using the iOS app, this is the first major setback/frustration I’ve encountered

David, if you simply see the magnifying glass when you try to highlight, try rotating the screen.
Is the lag you are experiencing in selecting text, or after highlighting the text and seeing the highlight applied to the text? How many resources do you have open?
David, which generation iPad Pro?
Tom, are you also on a 12.9 iPad Pro? Which generation (1st-3rd)?
Been playing around on an 11" iPad Pro and haven't perceived any latency.

Rotating doesn’t do anything for me, I have to fully close the app down and reopen it.
The lag is when selecting text, it sometimes works smoothly, and other times it doesn’t work at all. Also had the lag when selecting the highlight colour, after selecting the colour and hitting done it can take upward adds of 20 seconds for the actual highlight to apply to the text.
I THINK I found what’s causing the problems with selecting the text, it seems to be the dictionary auto opening that’s causing the lag. I find that opening to be an annoyance anyway, so would be nice to be able to turn that off. 99% of my text selection is highlighting or copying0
