Searching Library without internet

I just got off the phone with someone from Faithlife that was not very helpful to explain this for me, but it's frustrating when you are with someone and trying show something and a search does not work. Is this something new to Logos 8?

The person on the phone says it's hard to explain, but some searches are possible, but they could not tell me which ones. What kind of product has this become, in my opinion not very useful, after years of spending and feeding the monster that is now Logos 8

Frustrated

Yes, Customer Service can be frustrating because their job is not training and it is often hard to see why the line is drawn where it is. What did you need to know about the offline search?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Thanks for your quick reply MJ,, is there any documentation on what searches would work? And how to set them up?

I wanted to a search on something in Scripture, but it won't return anything, and I thought that I had done this years ago without a problem... wanted to find where Jesus said "I do what I see the Father doing" or something like that, I know it's in John and had to flip through John to find it

Guess that there really isn't any technical support any more,

    Blessing,

    Ralph.

this gives some information What Features Do Not Work Offline?

for detailed help on search see https://wiki.logos.com/detailed_search_help

The Fuzzy Bible Search, Bible browser and the Morph document I think require the internet, but most Bible searches should work. Hopefully, Dave will see this thread and tell you how close you can come to your desired search.

Thanks MJ for the links, and I worked on some searches with the internet off, and was pretty successful, I guess the Fuzzy Search gave me the most problems (or forgetting it was not there off-line). Possibly being tired last evening when trying teach someone was my  biggest problem, I did remember to make sure all my library was on the hard-drive as to have a full range of selections available.

    Changed Use Internet to No in Program Settings (followed by restarting);

Search offline (of Bible resource previously downloaded) does not have Fuzzy Bible section.

One search idea is "Words of Christ" for verses that have Father AND doing

Also can specify a search field with proximity:

    words-of-christ:Father WITHIN 7 WORDS doing

Thank you, I didn't set to No Internet, but will try that, I think remembering to use words of Christ would have solved my problem, I'll have to keep a note on my laptop. I think that the other thing I noticed that not having the internet, the program doesn't give you suggestions, which helps if your spelling is not accurate. One of the searches I tried is "Jesus is Yahweh" in my library, but I failed to see that I spelled Yahwey without the "h" at the end, but it did return 30 results without the internet on when I spelled it correctly
