Syncing Saved Layouts
Is it possible to pull up a Layout on the iOS app that was saved on the Desktop version?

No. The layouts on desktop are much more complex than on the mobile apps - and often make use of features that are not present on mobile.
These are probably some of the reasons why these don’t sync.

Thanks for the quick response Graham.

In Layouts, we can “link” together the resources we open in the tabs/windows. It works very well when the link set is the Bible + commentaries. However, when I add the Catechism, the linkage does not work. Seems the CCC only works thru hyperlinked citations/paragraphs.
I”m trying to scroll through Scriptural passages and have the CCC screen display the CCC paragraphs that refer to the biblical passages — similar to Cross-Referencing. Any ideas?

In order for resources to link, they must share an index. The CCC is not indexed by Bible passage - and can't be because there may be many references and they are not in order. To achieve what you want:
- Open a Collection guide section from the Passage list
- Click on the header bar and set the collection to your catechisms
- link the Collection guide section to your Bible.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

This won‘t work as the CCC isn’t tagged with Bible references - “milestones” - in the same was as versified resources such as Bible and commentaries are.

Thanks MJ but I’m confused. On the Verbum desktop, I have 3 items to the right of the Search Field: Docs, Guides, Tools.
Should I go to Guides and select “Passage Guide” or do I go to Docs>New>Passage List or Tools>Library>Collections and drop the CCC into the resources field (but I don’t see a link option)
I’m obviously not going thru the right process

I can't imagine why you had trouble following instructions that don't work. I forgot a UI decision by FL that I thought would lead to precisely the mistake I made [:$] Much to my annoyance, one has to take a small detour ...
- Click Guides
- Go to Bible Passage; Click Commentaries
- Enter a reference and wait until Add appears on the right side of the section header
- Click Add
- Select Collections
- Mouse over on the section header gives you access to Settings
- Select Settings
- Enter "Catechism of the Catholic Church" or a collection which includes it
- Link to your Bible
- If you wish you can remove the commentary section at the point and think that this is a bizarre way to obtain a simple act.

Holy smoke MJ! How in the world is someone supposed to discover this? Thank you very much. It worked!

I recently started using TeamViewer and it’s pretty cool, because I can view my Verbum app on my PC and use it on my iPad and android. There’s also a way to switch between screens, but I haven’t figured out how to do that layout and verbum and save it so that it pops up and all three screens. Team viewer is a free app and it works excellently

Thank you!!! That´s really nice for Verbum / Catholics!

On desktop, I tend to use the "Cited By" for this task more often than the passage guide.
In the tools menu, the Cited By tool is found under the "lookup" section.I believe that Catechism is automatically selected as a category it searches. If not, it's simple to add it from the top right of the tab. This process is a little easier.
- Open Bible
- Click tools icon
- select "Cited By"
- Link Bible and Tool
The tool will show you every place where the Catechism references the passage you're looking at.
