It would be awesome to get the 10th anniversary edition in FL ebooks. It has been out for a few weeks now, and the new edition is sold everywhere else I checked. I'd like to have it in Logos though. The author told me at a conference that the new edition has about 40% new content, so I don't want the old edition either.

Excellent! I wanted to use my next birthday coupon on it, but like that it's even better.

And when did FL say they would have this sorted out. Or have they put it in the too hard basket. An official update on would be nice on whether they are still working on this or no.

All you need is a US payment method. Not impossible to solve.

And when did FL say they would have this sorted out. Or have they put it in the too hard basket. An official update on would be nice on whether they are still working on this or no.

I understood the communication from Faithlife (which was very transparent) that the publisher group insisted having it their way - which would require a total overhaul of the ebooks shop system, and customer-specific pricing in multiple currencies, which doesn't work for a store where Faithlife doesn't make substantial money with in the firstplace. And while I often prefer having a book regardless of price, it doesn't feel good thinking about Fathlife accomodating to that business practice (and in all practicality would most often mean that international customers are left out of promotions anyway - okay, I can life with that on Amazon, too, but I don't need to like it).

Since Faithlife normally doesn't discuss contract negotiations at all, I don't expect regular updates (you may resurrect the respective thread and ask whether this is still on the agenda in talks with HarperCollins - but I wouldn't hold my breath for the answer).

On the other hand, maybe there's an intern sitting at Zondervan or Thomas Nelson, monitoring all mentionings on the internet. Or a robot, doing this automatically. In this case, my message is loud and clear: HCCP lost another sale today with me, and no, I'm not buying the same book at another vendor that gives royalties to you guys, I'll rather look around on ebooks.faithlife.com and buy something from a publisher that wants my money where I want to spend it.

I understand all that, never said they weren't transparent and I'm not asking them to discuss contract negotiations. The impression I got was FL was working on overhauling the e-book system for sometime this year to meet the publishers requirements and I'm simply asking if FL are still doing this, not even asking for a date, just asking are they still working on this as I got the impression that was the way forward for them to satisfy their customers given they gave a rough statement of time frame it would require to implement it. If they don't serve their customers they are going to make even less money as we will turn to Amazon. It's not just the money they loose on the intermediate sale but the flow on sales they are going to loose when we start making other purchases form Amazon ( or other bible software e-book sellers who do have the books FL can't sell to us).

Business is business, I work in business, there are always going to be stronger players on one side of the transaction. I don't see it as FL accommodating an unethical business practice, it's the nature of the flawed economic system under which we live and work, companies will seek competitive advantage, government regulates to a point but not to the the extent of creating a level playing field - if that were the case we'd be living under a different economic system and facing a different set of issues.

For sure as international customers we might be left out of promotions, but we are now, the difference being we'd have the choice of purchasing in our preferred e-book platform so I don't see it a negative in the way you do. But I respect your point of view, neither of us are any more right than the other which just have a different perspective, possibly partly driven at least by life experience, but I think we both can agree on looking forward to the day when the flawed systems of this world are forgotten.

I do appreciate your responding Mick within your limited knowledge of the whole situation but this is one FL needs to answer. Other users can not answer it because they can not speak on behalf of FL on whether they are proceeding with re-building of the e-book store to meet publisher requirements or they are just going to say too their international customers we can not service you fully in this market.

And when did FL say they would have this sorted out. Or have they put it in the too hard basket. An official update on would be nice on whether they are still working on this or no.
