Sending Proclaim slides into Blackmagic ATEM

We moved to Proclaim from EasyWorship earlier this year. Since the COVID crisis, we are moving to live streaming, and want to send a feed from Proclaim into our Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD, but I am having a tough time figuring it out.

This past week I saved the slides as PNG files, and then used PowerPoint to send them to the ATEM, but that is a lot of extra work. Can Proclaim be sent to the ATEM? If so, what do I need to do in Proclaim and the ATEM as far as the settings go?

Thanks!

You should be able to plug your computer into one of the hdmi inputs. The computer will see this as a monitor and you can send proclaims slides there.

the one caveat is the computers resolution has to match the ATEM exactly, including refresh rate.

    Hi Jordon.

Thanks for the quick reply. We typically don't use problem for sermon PowerPoint presentations, as we just recently moved to it. Old habits die hard. However during this time of change, we pre-record the sermon on Saturday for a simulated live stream on Sunday morning. Our associate pastor wanted to try using Proclaim yesterday, so rather than using PowerPoint on my laptop, into the ATEM, like we normally would do, I tried showing the Proclaim presentation, however I couldn't get Proclaim to show up on the ATEM, it would show the extended desktop on the ATEM, but not proclaim. I ended up saving the slides as png files and inserted them into PowerPoint and that worked great, although many extra steps were needed.

In Proclaim I tried to change the display settings for the #2 screen (ATEM feed), but that was unsuccessful, and it just kept showing the extended desktop.

Our goal is to use Proclaim as lower thirds into the ATEM, and use I'm guessing a downstream key. Am I missing something somewhere?

Oh that’s odd. I missed your part about PowerPoint...

is this a Windows laptop? I have only had experience doing it with a Mac laptop, but very surprised if the slides wouldnt show up..

as a test can you drag Proclaim main window onto the ATEM and can you see that?

I would use the regular key + proclaims fill on the display settings to key out the background for lower thirds. (We even have some premade lower thirds slides in the media browser)

Yes it is a Windows 10 laptop.

I brought home our old ATEM TV Studio this week, along with an older video camera, to try experimenting with them, to see what I'm doing wrong. It didn't make any sense that I couldn't get the secondary display to work in Proclaim.

Question when using atem pro what is the best way to hook it to the computer so procalim can send slides out? HDMI to atem input or the direct ethernet line?

    Thanks

Hi Brian - and welcome to the forums

Question when using atem pro what is the best way to hook it to the computer so procalim can send slides out? HDMI to atem input or the direct ethernet line?

You need to connect an HDMI output from the Proclaim computer into one of the ATEM hdmi ports.
