I consider the Liturgy of the Hours to be my base but ...

    • If I'm away from home, I travel with Christian Prayer
    • I enjoy the Phyllis Tickle series of The Divine Hours set for variety
    • The Northumbrian Community now and then
    • The Lindisfarne community now and then
    • A Shorter Morning and Evening Prayer (Brook)
    • The Little Office of Mary

I'm drawing a blank on the title of the Lutheran and Ethiopian prayer books that get picked up frequently.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

This is something new experience for me. As I study more and more about liturgy, I'm getting more and more interested about it. Thanks for your suggestions. I was really expecting from you. I look forward to use the Liturgy of the Hours. Just checked my kindle and have the Lutheran "Treasury of Daily Prayer". It looks good and I'm going to start with it.

    Likewise.

ultimately it is the Bible.  I use it by itself;  I use it within the Lectionary in the Mass - outside of Mass in the form of a hand missal; I use it in the LOH. I have these three resources on my desk and in my bag that I carry with me when I leave home.  I also have them digitally on my phone and tablet - two of them in Verbum, the hand missal via my subscription from another source.

    Hope that helps [:)]
