Per MJ Smith's recommendation, I am posting a message here.

I bought the NJB with complete study notes.  The notes are excellent.  I am grateful the resource is now available.  I want to say thank you to everyone at Logos who has been working on this project.  Thank you!

In investigating the resource, I've discovered a few items that look to need correction:

- I notice the notes for the book of Proverbs are all off -- the notes are not connected to the correct verses in the NJB.  It appears that chapter footnotes are off by one chapter for all notes -- that is, they are synched incorrectly, off by one chapter.

- I also noticed that not some verses are missing cola when they appear in the text comparison feature.  An example is Psalm 25.

- Also, is there any way that Logos can hyperlink the cross-references?  There are so many verses cited as cross-references but no way to read the actual verses except by writing them down and looking them up manually.  (So very pre-Logos...)

Could you give me an example? I'm not able to reproduce this. After reading through the other forum it seems other users weren't able to either.

I'm also not sure what you mean here. Are you referencing things like "Aleph", "Beth", "Gimel", etc.? If so we made the determination that were editorial insertions as opposed to Bible text. Thus we labeled them as heading and not Bible.

    Hi Kyle,

Thanks for your reply.  I'm sorry its taken me until now today to get back to you.  Here in bold are examples or updates on the issues I noted in my earlier post.

    - I notice the notes for the book of Proverbs are all off -- the notes are not connected to the correct verses in the NJB.  It appears that chapter footnotes are off by one chapter for all notes -- that is, they are synched incorrectly, off by one chapter.

An example is if you click on the footnote "a" in Proverbs 3:8 in the NJB.  It opens to the "a" note in the NJB with complete notes under Proverbs Chapter 4.  Again if you click footnote "b" in the NJB (in Proverbs 3:10), it opens full note "b" in Chapter 4.

    - I also noticed that not some verses are missing cola when they appear in the text comparison feature.  An example is Psalm 25.

Here's an example:  If I do a text comparison of Psalm 25:4 for both the NJB Reader's Edition (the old version of the NJB) and the NJB Text (Wansbrough's that was just released on April 24), I get different results.  The NJB provides the full text:

4 DIRECT me in your ways, Yahweh, and teach me your paths.

The new resource, NJB Text provides this:

4 and teach me your paths.

It appears that the first colon or phrase of each verse of Psalm 25 is missing in what is shown in the text comparison.

    - Also, is there any way that Logos can hyperlink the cross-references?  There are so many verses cited as cross-references but no way to read the actual verses except by writing them down and looking them up manually.  (So very pre-Logos...)

This is working fine.  I didn't realize that I needed to click the asterisk twice to get the verse references to become hyperlinked.

I can verify that the compare versions has an issue of dropping the first cola but it varies depending on the position of your cursor in the verse when you hit F7

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I can verify that Proverbs 3 is pointing to 4's footnotes.  Seems it is not linked to the actual 3 notes.

Gotcha. Thank you for the explanation. That makes sense.

We've already got a fix ready for linking. As soon as we fix the Bible text we'll push out an update.
