Catechism of the Catholic Church (2nd Ed.) - Formating the Index

In Logos editions of Dictionaries such as Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary (Eleventh Edition), Logos formats the lengthy "A Dictionary of the English Language" in headings of the alphabet, then subheadings such as A, a to aboveboard, then into individual entries. I'm asking for suggestions and support forum members about doing something similar to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, as it is very difficult to navigate the index.

What is there now is this:

INDEX

Prefatory Note to Index

Abandonment

disciples’, 1851
God never abandons His people, 2577
Mary’s abandonment of herself to God, 506
to providence, 305, 322, 2115
to the will of God, 2677

Abba

the Spirit of the Son of God in our hearts, crying out “Abba! Father!” 683, 742, 1303, 2766, 2777

Abel

fratricide against, 401, 2559
as the venerated just man, 58

Abortion

moral precepts and, 2271, 2274
and respect for life, 2770
those who help obtain an, 2272

If this were formatted like the encyclopedia and dictionaries were it would be a joy to use.

Thanks,

David

Note. What you are requesting is that the index titles by headwords just as the glossary entries are currently. I don't know if that is possible as some terms may appear in both the glossary and the index. But it is a good idea.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

MJ, I don't know if you have the Webster's Dictionary or the Compton's Encyclopedia, or similar, but they all have an index, and in Logos, you can go to the first letter, say "A" then it unfolds to a page that has "A to Abandonment" and underneath that "Abba to B" and if you  select one of those sub headings, you get to the word you want to read about.

Below are only the first three entries, but having the index like they have it in the Dictionary would make looking up subjects very easy and would be a great benefit to users.

(Assuming I haven't entirely missed your point) I wonder if the issue is whether FL or LEV would see this as altering the text of the Catechism, requiring permission from the publisher.
