Answering the question from  http://community.logos.com/forums/p/14537/111469.aspx#111469

Will someone help show me how I
could go a bit deeper here and say find the subj and the finite verb in a
NT passage using Open Text.org. I have read all the posts i can find
and still not understanding how to best do this basic search.  Thanks in
advance to those who help teach us how to better use this great
program.

Here's my search based on your criteria

Clause 1 is listed as a Primary clause so it will identify only main clauses, not embedded or secondary (dependent clauses). I used an unordered group because word order can vary w/ NT Greek. Then the two clause components identify the subject and the verb.

So basically this search will identify all primary clauses in Opentext that have an explicit subject and a verb (Predicator). Note that this search will return a great deal of hits so if you try it I recommend using it on a limited pericope. Otherwise your computer may churn for a long time finding hits.

Does this answer your questions? Are you hoping for the syntax search to give different results than what this search does? If so, how?
