Wordsearch Moving to Logos Bible Software

We are beginning to ship out some of the new books that weren't available in the Logos library. A couple notes:
1. We wanted to get these books out and available to Wordsearch users as soon as possible. Rather than wait until the book was a complete Logos resource to ship it, we decided to batch create and ship Faithlife ebook versions that we will update to Logos resources. These ebooks will have basic functionality but not all the tagging that comes in a Logos resource (because they are batch produced, they could contain typos or strange formatting). We will begin work immediately to update these resources. We plan to have them all updated by the end of 2020.
2. This is the first batch of many. If you're waiting for a book and don't see it, it's coming in a future batch.
We're very excited to add these titles to the library and are looking forward to adding many more.
That's great Ben! I was looking at my list of titles coming over and was getting a bit nervous about some study bibles coming over as ebooks.

Great plan. I hope WS users understand what you've just explained so they don't feel they've been shortchanged.
How about an addition to the FAQ page on the website?
EDIT: Also this is posted in the General Forum. I'd suggest a re-post in the Wordsearch Forum.

Good call. I'll post it in the WS forum.
Is there a master list somewhere of books that have already gotten the text in Logos and books that are waiting to be imported?

Ben may know. The list I've seen is personal: those of my licensed books that have already been converted and those that have not. If you have a WS account your list would be here: https://www.logos.com/wordsearch-library-migration

We're working on a comprehensive list. Until then, what Mark pointed out is the best option.

Actually that is perfect for what I was wanting anyway. Not sure how I missed that link before. Thanks!

Also, we do plan to start selling these books on logos.com soon. We have a few things to do before we can offer them for sale.

Music to my ears! I’ve been wanting the Fire Bible for over a decade now in logos. Now it can happen!

In your Wordsearch program directory, there's a booklist.xml file that can help you figure this out. Look at the pubnum and booknum attributes. See https://community.logos.com/forums/p/193934/1118007.aspx#1118007 for details.
We also plan to add more details to our system to clear up some of these "Unknown" values; it's "just" a matter of data in one system not yet being loaded into a different system.

We haven't loaded your licenses yet, but it should happen in the next day or two.

I have both Logos Now and Wordsearch Perks. The codes for the free books given each month for subscribing to each program appear to be the same.
I tried to pick my free books for my Wordsearch Perks membership this month, entered the code, and was told that the code was invalide.
Thank in advance for your help.

The Wesley Study Bible downloaded today, which I am happy about. One problem: it is categorized as an ebook. I'm sure this will be taken care of in the future. Is there a separate thread in the forums where we are putting Wordsearch issues?

In an effort to get as many resources downloaded as possible, many of them are being converted to ebooks initially. Some of those will be later treated to the full Logos conversion. I am sure one of those would be the Study Bible.

I own Wordsearch and Logos. I've been offered a 50% discount for updating Essential Features because of the move of Wordsearch to Logos. However, when clicking the link to buy the update the cost is shown in teh basket as full price. I assume this is an error!
Hope this can be sorted.
Thanks

I don't wish to sound negative but I wake up on 20 September with this 'fait accompli' Wordsearch moving to Logos Bible Software.
My concern relates to handling customer information. On the basis of ' a common email address' there is a sharing of information whether we like it or not. So my questions are:
1. What other information may have been used to support this and to compare customer detail? and;
2. What safeguards were/are in place with the transfer of information?;
3. It maybe some detail in a profile did not wished to be shared in this way so how is it protected?
Nowhere in the documents listed could I find reference to privacy information ( I am happy to be corrected).
Do not get me wrong. I have used both programs for many years and understand there are benefits in the 'transition' although speaking personally it will prove difficult.
Getting back to my concerns, both WS and Logos have privacy policies. Is it possible for some Logos official to comment on how these policies guided the transition; the affects privacy the transition has and confirm that arrangements meet the privacy policy of both organisations.
Thank you in anticipation.

I'm not seeing Tozer on Christian Leadership in your Wordsearch licenses. Can you confirm the version you have in Wordsearch by going to the Library, right-clicking on that book, choosing Properties, and copying the Book ID?
Thanks. I don't have a local install of Wordsearch. Would the web app link be enough? https://app.wordsearchbible.lifeway.com/library/title/005635607
I found that the book id is 0:1725. Thanks.

Thanks. I got access to it just now.
I have compiled a table of missing titles. I probably will post it in https://community.logos.com/forums/t/193934.aspx?PageIndex=2 unless you want me to report somewhere else?

Please let us know if anything appears to be missing.

Actually may be I have access to it in the beginning. WORDsearch showed it as "Tozer on Christian Leadership" but Logos showed it as "Tozer for the Christian Leader".
Thanks.

Almost a week later and still none of my Wordsearch titles have migrated to Logos (according to https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/library-migration, which I check regularly).
Should I be concerned? How many users are still waiting?
Thanks

We did not expect this to take so long, and apologise for the delay, but we're processing the license backlog right now.

I don't understand about the privacy concern here. Logos (Faithlife) acquired WORDsearch and therefore whatever info you revealed to WORDsearch should be and has to be available to Faithlife (else how can they make the transition for you?)
May be what you want is some sort of consent. The only thing they did that is slightly scary is the auto-merging of the 2 libraries but then they said that you can request them to undo this.
I think they want to make it as seamless as possible and at the same time as it is not an irreversible process that I think it is as good as it can be.

Rather than sharing the data, I think it is more accurate to say the data was sold to Faithhlife Inc. together with the responsibility to provide certain functions and products that LifeWay would no longer provide. Put another way, LifeWay sold the contract that you had with LifeWay to Faithlife ... similar to how banks may sell your mortgage to other banks or the conversions in a bank merger.

So not true. If you've ever been in the identity-business, the sloppy people are best. And in the future, re-creating you is best with the most. The old joke about the bear and 2 hunters will always be 'so true' ... nothing is perfect; just be better than the next guy (or gal).

Your personal information was handled in accordance with Faithlife's privacy policy. We used email address as the key to associate Wordsearch user data with Faithlife systems. Data was transferred over encrypted channels and shared only with the personnel required to perform the import into our systems.

Can you do this in two phases?
Phase 1) Just get the questions out there.
Phase 2) Do it the best way.

Do we have any idea how soon this incorporation will take place? It seems like it would be a simple indexing issue, but I'm a pastor, not a coder. This has been an expensive transition and this is a feature I use regularly. It isn't saving me time right now. PLEASE HELP. thanks.
