Status of your Wordsearch Library

We've created a page that shows the progress of your personal Wordsearch library being migrated to Logos: https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/library-migration

Available means that the resource has been unlocked to your account and should download to Logos 8. It does not mean that a product page exists on logos.com for Logos users to buy this book yet. It does not mean that this is the final version of the resource; we're upgrading the edition of many of these resources from Ebook to Logos Reader or Logos Research: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/193938.aspx
In Progress means that a Logos Resource ID has been identified or created and aligned with the Wordsearch title, but no file is available yet. It may still be on Community Pricing or Pre-Pub (but you will get it for free when it's available).
Not Started means that that alignment hasn't happened yet, but we have a record of your ownership.

As of Sep 21, not all licenses have been loaded into our system yet, so some of your Wordsearch titles may be missing from the list. For now, please be patient, wait a day or two, and check back. We'll update this post when we believe that everyone's licenses are loaded into our system.

Some Book IDs may show up as "Unknown" in the list. This means that we're still updating our resource system with information from Wordsearch's system; those should be replaced by real titles in the near future.

Thanks Bradley! This is extremely helpful to see this!

It is interesting that titles tagged as "available" to me will display in the Logos web app, but if I try to open in the software, it says I do not own a license to this resource. I'll just be patient and keep checking back. Thanks again.

If they show up in the Library in Logos 8 (desktop) then you do have a license for them. Perhaps they've been configured as "Cloud Resources" and not downloaded to your computer? You can filter the Library to resources not on this computer, Select All, then download them (from the Info Panel in the Library).

See https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025106492-Select-Which-Library-Resources-to-Download for more training on how to use Cloud Resources (which is a way to save disk space if you don't want everything downloaded locally).

Just to confirm: they're shown as "Available" on the library migration page, you can access them in the web app, your Library in Logos 8 shows them downloaded, but when you open them in Logos 8 it says you don't have a license?

I'm not sure what would be causing that, so I'll have to follow up with the teams tomorrow.

Bradley, I'm just seeing 'You have no resources imported from Wordsearch' on the migration page. I communicated my Wordsearch email details to customer services and got confirmation that it had been associated to my Logos account on the 19th September. I assume it's just a matter of waiting for things to update?

I'm in the same boat as Dave. Multiple "update now" commands haven't changed anything. It's not urgent for me. I'll keep using WS and just check back over the next few days to see if/when my library appears.

When I go to this page I get a totally different result. I get "You have no resources imported from Wordsearch." So what does that mean? Should I be concerned? And what should I do? I feel like I am getting a mixed message when I am told to be patient. I am told again and again that most of my resources should already be available (but none of them are), and that all of them should be within days. I got a personal note saying that my name was not in the first batch sent over so my licenses haven't been started yet. Still, I feel it is a mixed messages, especially in light of the below quoted forum note. None of the messages apply to me. I didn't get any of them. Please can someone give me a clear and not a mixed message about where my resources are?

Sorry to bring some disappointing news, but we haven't loaded your Wordsearch licenses into our system yet. (They ended up coming to us in multiple batches, and yours weren't in the first batch.) We're working hard to resolve this as quickly as possible; thanks for your patience.

No, don't be concerned. Your licenses will be loaded into our system soon. Until then, there's nothing to do but wait, sorry.

Yes, that was a mixed message, and we apologise for the confusion. We did not realise (when we sent out the first email) that we would be receiving user licenses in several batches. If we had known that, we would have phrased the email differently.

Now that they are coming to us in separate batches, it is just taking a little longer for us to import them than we expected, but I do still anticipate it happening within the next couple of days.

As a non-Wordsearch user I don’t understand what My Apps are. Can you expand on this please and explain what you are expecting to see?

Have you checked the page - https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/library-migration - Bradley mentioned in the first post in this thread? If so, what is the status of the resources you are not seeing.

My understanding is that you will not be expected to pay for these again - but it is taking some time to get all the resources migrated for everyone

These are the easy ones to "convert" or should be because of popularity and use.

And I can't even use the way I like through the web interface, I set it up last night and nothing was saved, so I have to do it all over again. Seems like it is going to be a daily thing... and 5 gb disk storage for my desktop is excessive.

I understand your frustrations. It IS a STEEP learning curve from WS to Logos. It does have a big footprint (I'm around 100gb with ~15000 + titles). But the learning curve, and the footprint are worth it in the long run. I go to one of the six baptist seminaries and for a while they gave me wordsearch free (starting I think v9). But even so, I used logos more because of the scope of what it can do.

I don't really use the web app too much, other than for beta testing things here or there. But I do use the program on my laptop where I can save layouts, and use those to pick up where I left off. the web app and desktop app are closer to parity than they've ever been so it wouldn't surprise me if there was a way to do this on the web app also.

I guess what I'm getting at is this: take heart, you'll get there, and when you do, it will be well worth it. It was for me any way.

Part of the thing I like best is the community here in the forums, and the depth of knowledge that you can poll by making a thread. Anything you're struggling with RE L8, someone else has already figured out and can guide you through.

Plus the Morris Proctor training thats being given away, thats huge and highly recommended!

Alan, are you not able to continue to use Wordsearch while you are in the middle of this transition? My understanding was that you'd be able to do so indefinitely. It seems that would be a good approach until everything you are concerned about gets straightened out.

Faithlife will be the first to tell you that this has been a major task for them, that they've have had to wait unexpectedly on Lifeway to get everyone's licenses, and that they would have loved to have had more lead time to get everything ready, but the announcement of the sale was going to be made, so they had to get as much done as they could in the short time available.

I do believe once everything is ironed out that you will have a positive Logos experience. If not, you'll still be able to use Wordsearch for some time after which you'll have to either choose to use Logos or lose your Wordsearch investment and use something else.

Yes, it is, and thanks for your patience. We're loading updated Wordsearch licenses now, and hope to have it done by the end of the day (Pacific Time), although it could end up pushing out another day.

You should be able to save a bookmark in your browser. The necessary information to reload your layout is part of the url.

I wish I were at least in the third section, so I had some reassurance that I would be getting my library, but I have been told more than once that it will be coming, in spite of the fact that I don't even get "not started" when I go to this page. I'm still trying to be patient through yet another day of waiting. I'm trying to use the time to learn my way around Logos, but it isn't so much fun when I don't even have my Bible to use. Still, I'm waiting and working on my patience muscles.

I will throw my name into the ring of having zero resources transferred as of right now when I click on the library-migration page. I have something like 619 resources in Wordsearch from the past 15-20 years so I can't wait for them to get transferred.

You are in the system. It looks like you should have licenses on your account, because they were in the first batch (but nothing is showing up). I don't know why that is, but I'll have the team look into it. We do have your licenses, so we will eventually get them to you. (They may come over automatically when we process the latest batch, but if they don't we'll look into it further.)

Kathleen, I see over 1,600 licenses for you in the next batch of Wordsearch licenses that we're processing. I'm hopeful that will happen today (but sometimes there are unexpected delays; however, rest assured that bringing WS licenses over is the team's highest priority).

There are also 26 "disk-based" licenses for you (that might have come from a CD product), including Feasting on the Word. These may take a little longer for us to import but will be processed as soon as we can.

I am looking forward to getting to know Logos and to use it in my sermon and teaching preparations. Looks like it has a lot of features that may be great for personal study as well! I am very grateful to have my library from Wordsearch transferring over... Compared to many here I'm sure my library isn't that huge, but most of it has been paid from my own pocket so it would be a huge set-back to lose it all had Wordsearch simply gone out of business.

Please pass along to your Logos team there at Faithlife my sincere appreciation for your commitment to keep Wordsearch customers' libraries and to bring us into the Logos product family. The good will and positive treatment is not lost on most of us, and I believe it will be well rewarded moving forward based on all I have read about Logos over the years.

Either they aren't linked, which means that they use two difference email addresses, or FL hasn't imported your licenses yet.

I guess there's still many users (like me) with just a text "You have no resources imported from Wordsearch." in that library migration page. I can only imagine how big userbase these Bible softwares have. It surely takes time to have everyone's licenses updated.

This lists a total of 2581 volumesr (over 1500 Books).. The Forum link you provided is nice, but most of my high dollar commentaries are not even listed in your list. I have over 600 commentaries, and so far only 194 of the lesser ones have migrated.

I have already uploaded the above file and my Wordsearch Backujp to your customer Service email and have not noticed my best Wordsearch commentaries showing up anywhere.

It is opened by the "i" inside a circle icon on your Library tool bar. Click on it

Most of these (Boice, NAC, Holman NT, Baker, Cornerstone, Barclay (maybe others)) were already in the Logos catalog so would not be on the list of Wordsearch titles being brought into Logos.

I wonder if these commentary sets came to you on a CD? If so, the last I read, Faithlife got the license files for those Monday or Tuesday and would be adding them to the appropriate user license files over the next couple of days.

Timing Update: The latest batch of licenses is processing now, but due to its size, it may not be done until Saturday, 9/26. A small piece of good news is that it will include your disk-based licenses and we don't need to process those as a separate batch.

As each account is processed, the licenses will become available, but some customers may have to wait until the end of the week until they show up. We know this is disappointing news for anyone who was eager to start using their new Logos library, and we apologise for the unexpected delay in getting all your licenses processed. I guess there's still many users (like me) with just a text "You have no resources imported from Wordsearch." in that library migration page. I can only imagine how big userbase these Bible softwares have. It surely takes time to have everyone's licenses updated.

After going through some training, I'm definitely seeing many of the benefits being in the Logos environment will bring.. and I echo the thoughts others have shared here re appreciating all the work that's gone into preserving our valuable Wordsearch libraries. I know work is still being done but this is surely a better alternative than a complete loss of data...

So that being said, I do have a quick question. I think this may be an easy question -- not sure where to ask it, so I came here...

One of my favorite commentaries in WS was successfully transferred to Logos but it's being recognized in Logos as a monograph. I would like it available in my Commentary resources when I run a Passage Guide. Is there a way to change the Type of this resource to Commentary? Monograph doesn't show as an option to include in Passage Guide resources.

Any help/advice appreciated.

The books are coming out with basic functionality and tagging first, then will be upgraded with improved formatting, richer tagging, and better metadata. Changing the type to a commentary is part of this process and will take place over the next few months. (In the meantime, you can't change the type yourself, sorry.)

Sounds like there's some real anger in this thread, and a few others out there in this forum right now. I'm just some guy, not affiliated with Lifeway/Wordsearch or Faithlife/Logos companies, who happens to be a bivo pastor and who has been using Wordsearch since I first got WS5 in 2001 - so 19 years at this point. But here are a few points I've been thinking about that might be helpful to others who, like me, don't have their libraries up and available yet in Logos...

Lifeway CHOSE to sell Wordsearch to Faithlife. Faithlife didn't sneak in and steal our software, Lifeway sold it (and the Wordsearch customer base) to Faithlife. I have no doubt Lifeway made a profit off of doing so (I know I would have wanted to if I were the owner and sold it to another company).
Lifeway's track record at supporting Wordsearch varied, depending on what OS you used. When I started out on Wordsearch, I was a Windows guy all the way. But about 10 years ago I switched over to Mac and haven't looked back. Wordsearch for Mac has always straggled behind Wordsearch for PC. It was never a native MacOS App, it was always run through an emulator, and it was very "kludgy" at times. Last year, when MacOS went to 64-bit only, Wordsearch quit working on the latest version of MacOS - IN SPITE OF HAVING SEVERAL MONTHS OF DEVELOPER LEAD TIME TO PREPARE IT, Wordsearch did not run on the latest MacOS until just in the past couple of months. Lifeway did provide a "work around" by offering an online login to a server that ran a version of Wordsearch, but there were a ton of limitations and frustrations with that as well. WHO KNOWS whether they had Wordsearch ready to go for the next version of MacOS coming out soon!
Faithlife COULD have chosen to purchase Wordsearch, maintain the software for a couple of years while encouraging users to switch over to Logos through special incentivized offer, and then quietly let the product die. This happens all the time in the software industry. If that had been their plan, then every Wordsearch user would have eventually lost their entire library of content purchased over the years when their computer eventually died, or when an OS upgrade prevented Wordsearch from running, or when a software bug eventually broke the code.
Faithlife COULD have chosen to purchase Wordsearch, then give all users an ultimatum of moving their library to Logos only after users agreed to purchase a base version of Logos at an exorbitant cost. After all, they have years of developmental costs invested in Logos, and they have no obligation to simply give it away free to anyone if they choose not to do so. They also COULD have offered to import Wordsearch licenses into Logos for a nominal fee, or at a 50% discount of their typical Logos price for each item in the library.
What Faithlife HAS CHOSEN TO DO, to the best of my understanding, is to offer Logos to Wordsearch customers for free.
What Faithlife HAS CHOSEN TO DO, to the best of my understanding, is to AUTOMATICALLY transfer every book in every Wordsearch customer's library that has an equivalent book in Logos TO LOGOS FOR FREE. This is a ton of manpower and resources and time, with no initial revenue to offset the business costs of doing so.
What Faithlife HAS CHOSEN TO DO, to the best of my understanding, is to begin the process of taking a large number of Wordsearch titles that were not in Logos prior to the acquisition from Lifeway and importing these titles/licenses into Logos. This is a significant process that likely requires reformatting of data, along with exhaustive manual proofing of every single volume before giving it the green light to be ready to use in Logos. And then they HAVE CHOSEN TO add those titles - once the process is completed - into the libraries of any Wordsearch customers who owned those titles when they were acquired by Faithlife. Yes, this will take time. It has to. My sermons don't get written instantly for me just because I want them to be done - I have to actually spend hours and hours working on them first before they are ready. This is no different.
Some customers (LIKE ME) are, for some reason, having to wait longer than some other customers to get their libraries transferred over into Logos to be available to use them. Some customers have seen many of their volumes transferred over but are still waiting for some more to get there. Some of these customers will not be able to use Logos this week to prepare sermons, lessons, etc. EVERY ONE of these customers can STILL USE WORDSEARCH WITH OUR FULL LIBRARIES JUST LIKE WE DID LAST WEEK while Faithlife works to complete the process of transferring our libraries over to Logos.
Some Wordsearch customers seem really upset at Faithlife for making them (eventually) have to switch from Wordsearch to Logos if they wish to continue to use their library of content they have purchased from Wordsearch over the years. This anger towards Faithlife is MISDIRECTED - If there is anyone to be angry at, it has to be LIFEWAY for choosing to sell Wordsearch to a competitor with a competing product rather than to either continue developing it themselves or selling it to a company who wanted to continue developing the Wordsearch product.
Some Wordsearch customers seem really upset that they are having to learn something new, or because everything in Logos isn't exactly like it was in Wordsearch. I would ask if those customers have WATCHED ANY OF THE TRAINING VIDEOS provided in Logos, or read any of the HOW TO ARTICLES in Logos, or searched for HELP in Logos? There seems to be a TON MORE training aids in Logos than I ever saw in Wordsearch over the past 19 years!

I'm 51 years old and pretty set in a lot of my ways... but I'm actually excited by the new options and features that Logos seems to offer for me. Change happens. Attitude makes a huge difference to how well we do or do not navigate that change.

Brothers and Sisters in the faith, I am sure that many of your were just as surprised as I was by this turn of events. And I am sure that many of you have worried, just as I have, about what will happen to the resources you have poured your own money and time into over the past years. But let's not let the enemy gain purchase in our hearts and in our minds over this situation! It is not worth it, no matter how much money or time we have all invested.

Let's take a minute to applaud Faithlife for choosing to put us - new customers who have not actually invested a dime to this point in Faithlife and their Logos product - ahead of immediate profits for themselves.

Let us be patient as their team works to make this transition happen, and gets as many of our resources transferred over as is legally possible.

Let us be leaders - which means we are learners - and commit ourselves to learning how to use this new tool, which just might surprise us by being a better tool than the old one was.

Perhaps we will find that Logos does not fit our needs, our preferences, or our tastes. In which case we should remember that Lifeway chose to sell Wordsearch, and we will resign ourselves to find a new product and begin building a new library that meets our needs.

Or perhaps we will find ourselves quite happy with Logos, and the commitment of the Faithlife team will pay off as we begin to add to our Logos libraries with purchases from Faithlife.

In either case - or any other case - Let us be Christ like and bear the Fruit of the Spirit to the Faithlife employees, Lifeway, and our fellow peers here in the forums.

Bradley, I own four Windows 10 computers. 3 of the 4 have successfully had my Wordsearch resources transferred to them. These computers are all at my home. However, one of them, my main desktop, has no Wordsearch titles transferred. It does show "40 updated resources" and "35 updated datasets". I cannot figure out why this one computer does not have the Wordsearch titles when my other 3 do. Typing "update now" in the command box, opening and closing the program, nor rebooting the computer had changed anything. Why would 3 get the Wordsearch titles, but not the 4th.?

Is there a limit on how many computers I own can transfer the Wordsearch titles?

I communicated my Wordsearch email details to customer services and got confirmation that it had been associated to my Logos account on the 19th September. I assume it's just a matter of waiting for things to update?

Yes, it is, and thanks for your patience. We're loading updated Wordsearch licenses now, and hope to have it done by the end of the day (Pacific Time), although it could end up pushing out another day.

You are in the system. It looks like you should have licenses on your account, because they were in the first batch (but nothing is showing up). I don't know why that is, but I'll have the team look into it. We do have your licenses, so we will eventually get them to you. (They may come over automatically when we process the latest batch, but if they don't we'll look into it further.)

Thank you, Charlie! Well said!! I am a 65 year old pastor, who has been using digital Bible software since the early 90s. I began with Quickverse and Wordsearch and others back when they were STEP compatible, and with Logos 1.6. I've seen the evolution of Bible software almost from the beginning. It is a wonderful Godsend. Ironically, I would have preferred to stay with Logos if I hadn't sunk so much money into the others, which eventually merged, and now merged again. Even though Wordsearch was an excellent program and they treated me well, I am glad that Lifeway sold out to Faithlife. And I'm thrilled with the way that Faithlife has accepted us and has bent over backwards to accommodate us and to transfer all of our Wordsearch resources. Patience, my fellow Wordsearchers.

Got up this morning and realized that the little round "blue" button at the top right of my LOGOS screen has disappeared. That's the one to the left of the synchonization button. As I recall, that is the one that tells you "Preparing Library" and "xxx resources updated" or "xx data sets updated"

I can no longer click on the little blue button to see what resources have updated or migrated over from WORDSearch

I restarted LOGOS twice and that button is still not there. Not even sure if the synchronization button is working.

Does this mean that something is wrong with my LOGOS? Do I need to reinstall it? Or, is this normal for the button
to disappear and return? Does this mean that my Books/Volumes from WORDSearch are no longer migrating?

When we click that button, it shows a range of things - that the library is indexing, resources have been updated, datasets have been updated. We have the option of deleting each area within that dropdown individually - I tend to do that when I have noted the changes. Once all of these indications have been deleted, the button disappears until the next time a resource / dataset is updated.

Not at all. And, in general, there are very few situations where reinstalling Logos is required. I wouldn't advise doing so unless it has been explicitly recommended as part of a trouble-shooting process.

It does mean that since the last time all of the areas in that dropdown menu were cleared, no further resources or datasets have been added or updated. It does not mean that the backend process of migration is no longer happening (I have no insight into that) and, if the migration is still happening that button should reappear again when more resources are downloaded.

I have only just started to go through my library. I figured there would need to be a number of updates to occur before a reasonable number came across.

That's correct; once a Wordsearch book has been linked to a Logos book, the Logos title is shown on that page. (This doesn't provide an easy way to see what the Wordsearch title for that Book ID is.)
The same title can be listed multiple times if there was more than one way it could be acquired in Wordsearch. For example, 0:36 is Thru the Bible (complete series), 0:37 is Thru the Bible (OT), 0:38 is Thru the Bible (NT). In other cases, they are different editions, e.g., 0:4866 and 0:15585 are different editions of the Reformation Study Bible. There are other scenarios, too. You can ask questions here about specific Book IDs you want to know more about.

Are you still receiving batches of user licenses from WORDsearch? I was able to work things out on the WORDsearch end a week and a half ago and was wondering how long I might have to wait before my library would be available in Logos.

Well Strong's Talking Greek and Hebrew Dictionary was brought over finally. And amazingly it doesn't talk. Nor does it sync with the other Greek and Hebrew Lexicon / Dictionaries. Then again, neither does the BDB, or tge Complete Word Study Dictionary for Hebrew. I have to keep WordSearch open to actually research words in those helps in a timely manner. Not loving Logos thus far.

This is not fully correct. It is in the process of being brought over. Currently it still shows edition "eBook" since the transfer is not yet complete. This has been discussed in several threads, e.g. by Bradley here: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/196897/1140459.aspx#1140459

This is the current status and there's every reason to believe this will change - even though the pronunciation of Greek & Hebrew lemmas is only a click or two away.

Actually it does. It is indexed for Greek and Hebrew Strongs and will sync with every lexicon that has this index (like e.g. Vine's, Kittel, Milligan-Moulton, Swanson, Mounce and the Strong's lexicons that used to be in Logos).

I have to keep WordSearch open to actually research words in those helps in a timely manner.

Obviously you are free to do so, which actually proves that you kept everything that you paid for - if you don't like what Faithlife gave to you as a generous free gift (which by the way other people paid dear money for), nobody forces you to. Maybe in some weeks the functionality of some of your key resources has evolved so that you feel you can use Logos in a comparable manner to your WS process.

No seriously, thank you for telling how Strong's functions on my computer. I'm excited to know that when it is not syncing with the other helps, that it actually is. And thank you for your other assumption.

But, I actually paid money for each of the items in my library. Logos apparently negoitated with WordSearch to assume their customers and support them. That was neither my decision or yours.

In the future, perhpas spend your energy not helping someone else.

Are you putting both lexicons in the same link set in order to cause them to sync?

I just opened Strong's Talking Greek and Hebrew Dictionary in Verbum ('Catholic Logos') and Enhanced Strong's Lexicon and added them both to Link set A and they synced just fine in both directions as I scrolled. The New Strong's Dictionary of Hebrew and Greek Words worked just fine alongside the Talking one, too, so it's not looking like I can recreate your problem.

I'd love to see a screenshot of what you see when you're trying to get these resources to sync so that we can determine what's wrong.

These are available to you. I recommend you opening your library and using the following search:

series:"New Testament Commentary"

From there you can do a faceted search by series. One of the options will be "New Testament Commentary".

I believe these titles were later re-branded as "Baker New Testament Commentary" which is probably why you were having issues finding it.

Instead of throwing insults and being mean maybe you should try reading this forum a bit. FL has said numerous times they are getting the books into the system as fast as they can as ebooks and will then convert to the regular books over time. They are doing this for free for you. If you cannot be patient go back to WS and continue to use your books there. Come back in 6 months and hopefully fixed by then. PATIENCE

Faithlife has been very upfront about the process involved to bring 1000s of resources over to the Logos platform. Try reading before throwing out your slanderous accusations and spreading them to your brothers and sisters. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to switch to Faithlife and you still have access to those resources via the WORDsearch program that is still operational.

We're going on SIX MONTHS to get this stuff indexed and TRULY AVAILABLE and functioning as it did in the old software. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do this. It does take resources.

If they have no intention on fully indexing each every book that was fully indexed in Wordsearch - then they should be HONEST about it, and quit LYING and calling it "AVAILABLE".

In Wordsearch a book was indexed to/with the Bible. When I changed chapter and verses in any of the Bible Windows, the book in question also changed chapter and verse right along with it.

Curious which Wordsearch book(s) are the most desired to be transformed from eBook into Logos Research Edition ? (includes Bible Milestones for linked scrolling)

Noticed lack of your replies in thread started on 26 Oct 2020 => Which new Wordsearch resources would you like to see first? (help Faithlife prioritize which resources be converted into Logos Research Edition sooner rather than later)

Note: looking at Wordsearch catalog => https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/catalog shows many Available as Logos Research Edition. Also noticed a significant number of Available as eBook: e.g. Strong's Talking Hebrew and Greek Dictionary (whose eBook conversion left out Talking while Logos & Verbum applications have lemma audio pronunciations, but not embedded in a single resource).

Description reminds me of a printed "Word Pictures in the Greek New Testament" that did not have Book, Chapter, and Verse on the printed pages so the printed book was Available for me to read & use, but was quite challenging to use for looking up comments about word usage in non-sequential verse order (similar to Available as Ebook that has text available for reading, but frustratingly difficult to jump between non-sequential verses). Manually adding Bible indexing information to every page took many hours over numerous days. Sometimes needed to correct my manual index marking [:P]

A possibility for Available Ebook usage is searching for Bible reference: e.g. <Mt7.12>

Thankful for Bible Book Abbreviations of two/three characters for every Bible Book, which is helpful for navigation & searching.

Implied in idea 'An non-indexed Bible Commentary is about as worthless as a _________________________. ' is intense desire for quality Bible Milestone indexing so navigating to Philippians 4:4 goes to desired commentary text (instead of James 1:19). Thread => American Standard Version 1901 - Personal Bible without Chapter and Verse #'s included three revisions of Bible Indexing in the New Testament. Quality checking of my efforts found [:P] that needed correction. Thankful for Faithlife resource creation having quality checks with corrections before public release. Caveat is time needed to quality check Bible Milestones, ... especially in Bible Commentary resources for the whole Bible as various Books have some Milestone quirks: e.g. Jude does not have chapter numbering.

Disagree while humanly not knowing how long for high quality conversion completion from eBook to Logos Research Edition. FWIW: a number of Logos & Verbum customers are also anxiously waiting for Logos Research Edition conversion completion plus hoping for Wordsearch Library Expansion bundles, which can give wallets reason to cry [:'(]

Personally, I find your post offensive. Being mean and yelling at people never helps. I understand your frustration (maybe) as I am in the same boat as you are. I still run WS software and Logos software to do my studying etc. But at least I have access to all my books so far! And I suggest you do to.

When I first came to Logos, I was frustrated and upset as I see you are. But I don't think, being abusive and unkind is any way to treat Logos people or anyone that is trying to help you. I am a Christian first, as I hope you are and with that it's not about what they do, it is entirely about what I do and how I act! Period.

I do not have the right to "brow beat" people or to be unkind to people or to be mean to people, simply because, I am a Christian.

I believe also, that you are wrong about Logos. I think they are working on transitioning all WS libraries into Logos as license's allow. I do see my WS library being transitioned into Logos USABLE books. I understand this to be a multi step process (and I don't know all the processes) but ebooks are a step in that process. I understand also that we just came through all the "year end holidays" when people want to be off work and spending time with their families and I am sure some of the employees of Logos did just that. Vacation and holidays will slow down any project.... that is a given. Logos could hire more people.... and charge us more... but maybe a bit of patience on our part may help to keep prices down...

And last something my wife says to me often.... "you get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar". I suggest you think on those words as I often do myself. And remember.... being kind never hurts but someone being mean and unkind can be remembered a long long time. There is always a kind way to get your point across.

In Wordsearch I had the "Strong's Talking Hebrew Greek Dictionary" It shows that it is available and I have it open in Logos. However, in Wordsearch you could click a speaker icon and it would audible pronounce the word, hence the title talking dictionary. Also, in Wordsearch it would have a link to the Vine's Word if it existed in the Vine's dictionary. I used this on a weekly basis in my sermon prep. When will this capability be available in Logos?

My KJV version Bible in Wordsearch includes topic headings in sections telling you what the following verses will be covering. It also include chapter headings and clearly shows when you transition to the next chapter. I have looked through all my KJV Bibles in Logos and they do not section headings and Chapter change clarity (i.e. "Chapter 2"). They just scroll from one chapter to the next with no delineations at all. Do you know when the Wordsearch KJV Bible will be available in Logos. I think I'm going to really like Logos. I'm just going to need to get all my books in place so I can start using it.

Thread => click on word to pronounce it includes screen shots showing Right Click => Pronounce & Lookup: Vine's can be one of the five Lookup choices, depending on resource prioritization. Thread => searching strong's numbers includes screen shots of Library prioritization so five lexicons appear for Original Language Lemma lookup and five different lexicons for Strong's number lookup. Logos Bible Software uses Original Language Lemma as the primary connector, which is useful in extra-biblical resources that have Lemma's not assigned a Strong's number since was not used in Bible.

My KJV version Bible in Wordsearch includes topic headings in sections telling you what the following verses will be covering.

CBD has a 1611 facsimile print edition that shows an outline of some verse(s) at the beginning of each chapter, which is different than pericope: e.g. Genesis III

1 The serpent deceiueth Eve. 6 Mans shameful fall. 9 God arraigneth them. 14 The serpent is cursed. 15 The promised Seed. 16 The punishment of Mankind. 21 Their first clothing. 22 Their casting out of Paradise.

It also include chapter headings and clearly shows when you transition to the next chapter.

Workaround idea is linking Lexham English Bible (LEB) with KJV as LEB has Pericopes: (Non-Bible text can be displayed when Chapter & Verse numbers are not shown)

Bible resource Locator Bar shows current Book and Chapter number. Right Click on a Bible word shows Chapter & Verse #'s. LEB is a formal equivalence (literal) translation style, same as KJV, but did not need to keep Bishop's Bible wording when practical so LEB has modern English 'you' usage (does not distinguish singular 'you': thee, thine, thou, thy and plural 'you': ye as KJV does).

Screen shot shows KJV using Multiview Resources || with Geneva Bible Notes (freely included in Logos 9 Basic) while Multiview Resources feature is included in Logos 9 Fundamentals that allows a commentary to follow Bible text while avoiding link set navigation surprises when commentary does not have every Bible verse. Geneva Bible Notes include Chapter header (so scrolling in linked Bibles causes Notes Chapter header to scroll too).

Caveat about chapter and verse numbering is lack of correspondence with original language discourse boundaries: e.g. Paul wrote some long Greek sentences that have many verse numbers like Ephesians 1:3-14, Colossians 1:9-20, Philippians 2:5-11, 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 (conversely a number of numbered verses have more than one Greek sentence: OpenText.org shows a number of numbered verses having four Greek sentences: e.g. John 1:20, Galatians 3:28 while 1 Thessalonians 5:14 has five principal clauses and John 1:28 has eight principle clauses). Original language writings do not have chapter & verse numbering (was added in the 1500's for use with concordance word lookup).
