    Thanks Bob:

Hope to be able to use Logos in the new Windows Mobile format due out Fall 2010 given my current Windows Mobile apps will not work in that new format.....

Thanks Bob!  I'm looking forward to enhanced mobile support for Logos in the future. What an exciting prospect!

    Yeah

Logos needs Android and Windows Mobile 7 apps

I will upgrade to either of these platforms in the coming months

When you make a decision as to whether or not you'll support other platforms, please let us know as much in advance as possible. Which platform Logos supports will play a huge role in which phone I upgrade to.

    Filled out!

of course after reading my passionate plea you'll go straight to building the blackberry version.  :-)

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

My next phone will be the "superphone"  HTC EVO 4G

    image

It runs Android and coming out this summer. I would love to have a Logos app to take advantage of the big screen (bigger than an iPhone).

Yes, this would be helpful.  L4 accessibility will be a major  factor for me too when it comes time to upgrade my cellphone.

So -- here's a loaded question -- Blackberry or Droid?

    I think that's called an iPad. [:O]

Please let us know soon that you will be putting out a droid app. We are moving in a couple of months and our current carrier does not work where we are going. I am trying to decide between a Palm Pre and a droid phone, I refuse to use a blackberry(too many bad reviews).

  • Please...

    Please...

Please... develop the android app.  Here are some ideas to assist:

Go open source - there are a lot of us techno logos users that would be glad to help

Charge a small fee to pay for the development of the app

Lets face it the Droid does...but for logos right now  - it doesn't... and thats just sad.

I'm very thankful for the browser version and use it regularly and today showed one of my instructors how it work on my new Droid Eris. She just bought Logos after I brought my laptop in and she looked it over.

I took the survey.  More than any mobile app (I'm fine with library.logos.com on my Blackberry 8830), I'd like to see a way to read books from my library on Kindle.

    Bob,

I would like to see Logos "finish" some of the ongoing projects (Library.logos.com, Library.logos.com beta) rather than leaving them in a perpetual half-baked / incomplete status.  I'm not as familiar, but this list may also include L4 Mac and iPhone version (no offline searching).

If Library.logos.com (mobile and PC versions) are built out to their full potential, do we really need separate dedicated apps for these other platforms?

    Yes, for offline use.

If you just thinking mobiles then Blackberry might be a priority but if your thinking tablets then Android should be a more serious consideration. http://library.logos.com  should also be developed considerably and the ipad app needs to look more like the desktop app

    Yes, for offline use.

Online apps can be configured for offline use ala gmail, google docs etc

Yes, through HTML 5. However, this standard is still maturing, support for it is not complete and widespread. I believe I've read that Logos wants to enable offline access through HTML 5 but it will take some time for them to design and implement it.

I hope we haven't forgotten the Windows Mobile users!  I would love a finger-friendly version of the Logos app on my HTC Imagio.  The Web app is neat in a pinch but it's fairly limited (at least at this point).

I emphatically agree. The honeymoon period for ipad is over and its not the 'kindle killer' publisher's were anticipating it would be. For me, Kindle has the edge because I can't afford either an ipad or iphone, and even if I did, my biggest complaint against Logos would still be left unresolved. That is, the ability to read books from the Logos library with the comfortability I would otherwise have with paper books. LCD screens do not cut it!

Yes, but not that far off and it is the future. I wouldn't care to go back to blackberry or windows mobile they are too Old Testament for me now. Ipad and android is interesting but a tablet app should be more like a desktop app than an e-reader. I have the kindle app for e-books and I bought logos for study and sermon prep with the latter being done on the move more often than I would like.

I've tried the iPad, but I'm not very impressed. I rather do my reading in a Nook or a Kindle. I try to only buy "reference" books for my Logos 4 now, since I spend all day working with a computer and do not want to do any reading on a LCD screen. If I could read my Logos books in my Nook, I'd buy many more books to just read and enjoy. I still buy those on paper now (easier on my tired eyes). So my vote is for an app for Nook/Kindle. Thanks for your work!

Nearly everyone I know who doesn't have an iPhone uses a Blackberry device (not counting those of course without smartphones). I would really appreciate an app for Blackberry.
However, I am in agreement with what others have said, regardless of the platform chosen, please let us know as soon as possible so that I can make any changes I may need to. My wife would really appreciate that so I stop borrowing her iPhone for extended periods of time to use the Logos app.

If you are in the US then you could use the Kindle browser to go to http://library.logos.com and have access to your books. sadly I am in Kenya and my kindle is unable to browse

I hate Windows 7, but love Droid. Windows mobile platform did not work at all for me. Verizon literally sent me six different phones before I finally had to abandon the platform and go to Droid. Hopefully Windows will work one day, but for me it did not. Droid is amazing because it works. I would use I Phone but I want to stay with Verizon.  Droid does what it says it will do, only downside is that nearly everyone has an I Phone App, but more and more are making it available for Droid. A lot less for Windows.

I am a Windows Mobile user, and would love a Logos app for it.  However, i understand that Logos will not create an app for it at least until after version 7 is released.  What i want is the ability to read my Logos e-books on my device.  Logos created the library.logos.com, but it really does not work well.  You can start reading an e-book, but once the browser is closed, you cannot easily get back to where you were.  Basically, that is all i am after on my mobile device.  I use my desktop to study, and want my mobile to read.  Make the library.logos.com work better at creating bookmarks or remembering where i am and i would be happy.

    God bless!

Bob, Thank you for asking. I did not take the survey because I am still weighing the benefits of the different devices before I buy one. I am not yet sold on the iPhone (too small), iPad (high cost) or the Blackberry (old technology?.)   But I've seen the Android and I LOVE it.

I want a mobile device primariy to read with. It is a must for it to handle my Logos library. If I did cast a vote, it would be for the Android. For the time being I carry my netbook around with Logos 4 full install / offline.

I have a Droid and a Kindle and would love to be able to read my books without waiting for the pages to reload each time.  I do not read books on my computer, so having an app for the Kindle and Droid would definitely change my buying habits with logos to include more than just commentaries.  Start with the fastest growing mobile platform, make an app for Android!  Or if not, just open it up and let someone else in the open source world do it...  I would really love this if you could do it and would pay for the privilege.

    Thank you!

Windows Mobile PLEASE!  We have a large user base and a vibrant platform to develop in.  Win Mobile 7 is around the corner as well and I'm just not interested in Apple or Blackberry for mobile solutions.  I must admit that the new HTC EVO 4G from Sprint will make me at least blink at Android but Droid is too new for me to truly consider over tried and true Windows Mobile.

Please don't forget about us Win Mobile users....

Logos 5, Windows & Android perfect together....

My thoughts exactly! I would love to see Logos for Android. It is the only app that I wish I had that is sadly missing. Please, please develope an Android app.

    Thanks,

    Dan
