Are Pre-pub the Only Resources that are Sure to End up on Logos?
I would like to know if the Pre-pub list is an accurate list of all resources Logos is working on making available on Logos. Or does it happen that sometimes some resources are not listed on Pre-pub but Logos may be working on in the background and will eventually be available without any pre-announcement?

In general, resources do go through the prepub process.
There may have been a few instances when that didn't happen btu I don't remember.
The exception to this is with the release of a major version such as Logos 9. There were some resources released as part of that that had not gone through the prepub process.

I have over 230 resources that I am waiting anxiously for Logos to bring to their platform. I would just like to get more of an idea if there is a possibility that they actually end up coming on the platform or if I should rather just purchase hardcopies of them from elsewhere.

I think this time it was probably less than 10 - mainly some new lexicons. But I didn’t really keep track

That’s a difficult question to answer.
If they are in the prepub system that tells us that Faithlife wants to get them into the platform. But until they are funded there is no guarantee that they will make it.

I would suggest posting your list in the suggestions forum. Faithlife reads every post sent there. you might also include what is special about each title and why it should be included in the Logos ecosystem. Also i would suggest breaking for large list down into manageable sections.

Just for your information, in the past Logos has tended to included titles into there base packages that they feel won't make it (lack of Funding). So they include them in base packages so that cost is spread out and covered. they generally do this for large items that they really want to see make it. Or sometimes to produce enough content for certain tradition base packages. For instance in the Logos 8 upgrade they produced quite a number of Pentecostal prepubs so that they could be included in that traditions base package.

One big reason FL has carefully waited for the highly anticipated 10th Anniversary Restoration Package Series.
Prepubs vs packages have a bumpy relationship. Those little asterisks can be outstanding across multiple upgrades.

Any simple answer is false:
- are they out of copyright? Here a simple request on https://feedback.faithlife.com/ is often sufficient
- are they in a series that is already present in Logos? If so, they may already be working on getting the rights. Suggest the resource at https://feedback.faithlife.com/
- are they from a publisher that Logos already as a relationship with? If so, it nudge from users may be all they need. Suggest the resource at https://feedback.faithlife.com/
- the remainder may take considerably more effort for FL to obtain rights - some publishers will not work with them, others have no experience with ebook versions and require a bit of pressure on the publisher side as well. But, as always, https://feedback.faithlife.com/

Actually, unless someone make a habit of listing the whole store sorted by newest, we have no indication to actually see if, when and how often it occurs. It might be more often than we think.
And: All of the discussion in this thread so far only concerns books on logos.com/verbum.com, i.e. Logos Research editions.
If the books come over as eBooks on ebooks.faithlife.com, where PrePub is the rare exception for new books, there hundreds of books will just appear overnight. Some publisher only want to license out books in this format (and it makes things very easy for them, since the processes for eBooks are automated).

Some publisher only want to license out books in this format (and it makes things very easy for them, since the processes for eBooks are automated).

I make a habit of reviewing all of the books that appear in the store on Logos.com (sorted by Newest) since the last time I've done it, and I've kept this up for some years now.
If the books come over as eBooks on ebooks.faithlife.com, where PrePub is the rare exception for new books, there hundreds of books will just appear overnight.
Likewise general.ebooks.faithlife.com.

I am a huge fan and extensive user of Logos. However, honnestly I find this area in Logos disappointing in that we do not have enough visibility of what is going to come out on Logos. Waiting 2 years at a time for a chance that something comes up at the next Logos release is not very pratical. Resources showing up without any pre-announcement also does not help in planning especially for extensive or academic users of Logos. Having an idea of where Logos is in negotiating contracts with different publishers or at least just knowing whether there is any chance of awarding a contract with a publisher would really help users plan appropriately (I would actually prefer Logos just says that these resources will not likely appear on Logos or there is no plan for these resources to be brought in on Logos rather than being in the dark). I think the situation is worse for those denominations which are not prominent (less attention seems to be given). Mine is Orthodox although all the books I want are Patristics which all denominations can benefit from.
In my case, like I said, I have about 230 resources that I need on Logos. I tallied up the price for all these books, and it totals about 8000-9000$. I would have loved to give every penny of that to Logos but since I have no clue whether they will ever get on Logos, I will have to go out and buy each of these books individually, scan them and bring them in as Personal Books. It will probably take me a couple of years to do this (hundreds of hours of work).

- Holy Cross Press (whole series on Patristics)
- Cisterian Publications (Logos has some books from them already but there are many missing)
- Sources Chrétiennes (only about 40 volumes which are not available in english from any publisher)
- Early Church Fathers Series (Routledge)
- Oxford Early Christian Studies (Logos has some books from them already but there are many missing)
- Oxford Early Christian Texts (Logos has some books from them already but there are many missing)
- Writings from Greco-Roman World Series (Logos has some books from them already but there are many missing)

- Patrologia Orientalis (Bidding stage on Logos for at least 2 years)

Chances are more of these are coming. Note what percentage of Faithlife's collection of their resources are recent arrivals.

Ask about them specifically. Series for which Faithlife already has some of the books are, in general, likely to be kept up.
