I can't get this "to work" i.e. show any difference. I think I'm misunderstanding something.
[quote]Bible Search Preferred Bible section for cross-reference searches is hidden when input reference does not have a chapter.
Does the discussion at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/198681.aspx help clarify what is intended?
I haven't installed the beta yet so can't check
Maybe but
seems to be about milestones while the change notice is about cross-references
It is about cross-references - but the implementation confusingly seems to be mixing cross reference and milestone searches.
Note the different results shown depending on whether or not a chapter is included in the search term
It seems like the solution to the reported problem was to not include this section if chapter numbers were not present. I don't think it really addresses the issues that were raised in the thread I referenced above, though.
When a chapter is included, it seems to act as a milestone search in your preferred Bible even though it is still doing a cross-reference search in the Bible specified in the search panel.
I don't think this can be right.

Bible Search
Graham has it. This is simply indicating that if you perform a search with just a Bible book reference, we will not show the Preferred Bible section.
This is operating as intended. Many users type Bible references into a Bible search, expecting to see the text of that Bible reference. The cross-reference search accomplishes something entirely different than this.
Thanks Andrew

Fair enough - but why does it show this information in my preferred Bible as opposed to the one I selected in the search? That seems strange to me.
Because the point of the section is to show results in your preferred Bible.
I personally think the target audience is not experienced users. I recommend keeping it collapsed if it doesn't meet your needs.
