Duplicated Book - Why God, Why? What to do when Life Doesn't make Sense

In the screen shot below I have put (1) & (2) at the front of each duplicate copy in order to distinguish the two of them.  

In the front matter of the book they both show exactly the same copyright date, ISBN & and eBook ISBN.

But when you look at the support info the two resources were created a day a part and one of them has a different ISBN as the resource id

I did some research and found on Good Reads the Publisher released the book with this two different ISBN's 20 days apart with the one having the later date having 2 extra pages.

Since there are no page numbers in FL eBooks we can't determine whether FL are selling the 240 or 242 page book under the 2 different resources ID's.

And while the publisher may be responsible for there being the same resource under two different ISBN's with a count of 2 pages difference.  FL has compounded the problem by not checking and questioning what they are converting and putting up for sale. They should now be conferring with the publisher which version to keep on selling and whether FL has the correct file for that version or not, they should remove the duplicate copy from sale. And they should search their records to see which customers have purchased both copies of the resource and providing them with credit to the value of the duplicated resource.

    I am not sure how to read the intent of your emoji or what to make of your response but you are not a FL employee so you really can't be thanking me on their behalf.  In this situation it would have been better not to say anything but instead through your MVP communication channels bring my concerns to the attention of a FL employee. 

    Instead all you have done is given me reason to say once again what FL don't like to hear:

    I do not believe users shouldn't have to bring these things to the attention of FL.  FL should be managing their own catalogue and not leaving it up to users to tell them of these issues. Instead they are too busy spreading themselves too thin trying to find ways to take another slice of the church budget. They no longer seem to be interested in doing anything well, just interested in pushing more code out the door and  adding more books to the catalogue. The quality of what the push out is seems to have no significance to them.

    A simply check for duplicate titles would have picked up the issue in this instance and caught the problem and led FL to ask questions of the publisher and sort  this out before they started selling the same thing to customers under two different resources ids. But no FL don't respect their customer enough to bother doing basic checks like this, they just wash their hands clean, blame in on the publisher and move on their merry way. FL is capable of being better than this, they once were better than this, they have lost their way and so I will continue to point out and challenge them to lift their game.

    Well said, D2.  Their catalogue is a mess.  Some books have samples, some do not.  Some books do not have the author listed at the top.  Some books do not have # pages listed.  Some books have no author bio.  Some are new authors to FL; a bio SB a priority, here.  Etc.

    This shoddy work increases my disinterest in buying.

    If FL's owner does not make this a priority, its not going to happen.  During the last year, FL has gone downhill in this area.

    Will people’s accounts be fixed  that have inadvertently purchased two copies of the same thing over the time this has been double listed?
