Hi Paul,
Bradley addressed similar concerns here https://community.logos.com/forums/p/198142/1148319.aspx#1148319

Thanks Kevin,
So if I get this correct, applying the fix will not affect my overall system in anyway?

It should only impact WPF applications and then likely something you do not notice. However you may, similar to the course videos, find that some other applications do not function correctly with the workaround in place, but then you may find that they don't work unless the workaround is in place. Best to check your other applications.
Any major applications (Office/Chrome/Firefox etc) I doubt are will have any problems, otherwise there would of been a bit more of a kerfuffle about this problem and Intel would of fixed it already.
Best bet is to disable the fix, look at your apps, then enable the fix and relaunch your apps, then compare. I am not on 11th gen so cannot test I am afraid, and I don't know what apps you use.
Good luck [Y]

Intel are aware of the problem and are "working on it internally" according to this thread (24th Jan).
https://community.intel.com/t5/Graphics/Iris-Xe-and-AWS-Workspaces/td-p/1244351
Seems it is also impacting AWS Workspaces, TurboTax, and Citrix so that should hopefully add some weight for a fix.
There was an update from an Intel moderator a week ago:

- Hello everyone,
- I would like to let you know that this issue has been filed as a bug with our driver development team (bug ID# 14013495876). I cannot promise any particular outcome or ETA yet, but as soon as there is any news or update I'll be posted here.
- Thank you for you patience.
- Best Regards,

Hello 11th Gen users. If you are having issues with Logos this is the thread for you to reply to and list them in. For me I have been on this ride now for about 2 weeks so here is a little history.
My laptop is the:
- HP Spectre 15.6 X360 11th Gen i7 with 16 GB Ram
My problems are:
- Factbook is very slow to respond and the mouse freezes up
- My notes don't seem to work but if I am patient I can type them a few words at a time and after 10 seconds they will show up on the screen
- Clicking from note to note sometimes doesn't open the note in the note's panel
My self help was:
- I have done 5-6 re-installs
- I have factory reset my laptop and installed Logos 9 first
- Logos forum - searched for the issue to no avail so I started a thread Re: Factbook issue
Tech Support
- I have talked to tech support 4-5 times
- They have remoted into my laptop and seen these issues first hand
- They have receive my Logos error logs
- They have received videos of these issues in action
- They have used my user name and profile and can't reproduce these issues on their 10th gen systems
Calling tech support is hit and miss as only 3 cases of this have been reported as of now. Be patient. Please keep reporting new issues to this thread as us 11th gen people need to get this corrected.
Thank You.
We made some changes to hopefully improve this in 9.3.

I had the same issue with - My notes don't seem to work but if I am patient I can type them a few words at a time and after 10 seconds they will show up on the screen
I had Enable Hardware Acceleration set to No. When I changed it to Yes, it solved the issue.

Good news from Intel
[quote]
Hello everyone,
I have great news! Our development team has confirmed this issue is no longer visible in our latest internal driver build.
What does this mean? Keeping it simple it means a fix is on its way! Please be patient as this driver build gets incorporated into our next Production driver i.e. the one that gets publicly available via downloadcenter.intel.com
The ETA for our next Production driver is June 9th. Note: this is a target date... it may shift for a few days depending on additional test results but hopefully it shouldn't be by too much.
Thank you for your patience.
Best Regards,
Ronald M.

Quick question. I have run the following to disable hardware acceleration so do I need to reenable it before the update on June 9 or not worry about it?
reg add HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Avalon.Graphics /v DisableHWAcceleration /t REG_DWORD /d 1
From <https://community.logos.com/forums/t/196185.aspx>

No. This hardware feature was part of Logos 9.4 and will continue in Logos 9.5 for Windows users.

Thanks Dave but I'm wondering if I need to go back to my default setting before the Windows driver update on 6/4 that should correct things for us on the 11th Generation processors? Right now I have hardware acceleration disabled and that is not the default. Do I need to re-enable it before I do the Windows update?

If the Windows driver update will fix the issue on June 4, you should change Enable Hardware Accelaration to YES (in Tools > Program Settings) after the update. A restart of Logos may be required.

Since Logos now has code that looks for this processor generation and disables this feature if it is found, I wonder if this will work or will Logos set it back? Does Logos check this at every run or just install? Would be nice to hear if this is the case and if a Logos update will be needed to change this permanently once the intel fix is in place.

Once set it will be checked after a restart, like all other settings/preferences. You can change this setting from NO to YES as in my previous post, and Faithlife can decide when/if to remove it.

Intel has posted an update: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000058136/graphics/graphics-for-11th-generation-intel-processors.html
- A fix for this issue will be included in the following graphics driver release (27.20.100.9616)
- The ETA for our next Production driver is June 9th.
- There are beta versions available if you want the fix early: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/80939/Graphics

It looks like I will soon, finally, be getting a new laptop with an SSD (yay!) All the models I'm looking at seem to have Intel 11th generation processors. I'm sorry to do this, but can someone ELI5 this issue, what I need to do and look out for? I can't go through the whole thread.
Thanks in advance!

what I need to do
Once you get the laptop, install the latest stable drivers from this page: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/80939/Graphics

I have a new HP Envy x360 with an 11th gen i7, Intel Iris Xe graphics.
My only problem (as far as I know) is that I can't get any videos to play. Logos Quickstart Training, Mobile Ed Training, etc. are not playing any video although audio is working fine.
If anyone can help me with this it would sure be appreciated. I've recently spent a good deal of money on new Mobile Ed courses and this is frustrating.
Also I'm not much of a tech guy so please keep responses in language I can comprehend.
Thank You.

Did you download the latest stable graphics driver as per Bradley's last post?
What is the setting for Enable Hardware Accelaration in Tools > Program Settings? Does it make a difference if you switch from NO to YES (or vice-versa)?

I solved this problem as described in my post HERE: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/201230/1171423.aspx#1171423
Thank you Bradley and fellow Logos users.

Ok, so I've installed graphics drivers and switched Enable Hardware Acceleration from No to YES and back, restarted my computer, restarted Logos, done pretty much everything I can think of, and still no video playback.
I don't know what else I can do. I'm lost.

Did you try the BETA Windows® 10 DCH Drivers as per Tim's post above?

I installed the BETA Windows® 10 DCH Drivers yesterday and tried it again this morning. Restarted everything and still no-go with the videos.

Some logs might help. Compress the log folder as directed, and upload it using the paper-clip icon.

Does this affect anything besides videos?
I've had my new system running Logos for a couple hours now, haven't encountered any problems. I don't videos, so if that's all that's affected I'd rather skip playing with drivers.

Notes & Factbook have been impacted (read this page for turning Hardware Acceleration ON/OFF)
