Speed searching selected text
It seems using the speed searching function for selected text is much different in 4 than in 3. In 3 I had to option of selecting text (when using the interlinears) and speed searching on either the manuscript or the lemma. In 4 I'm not sure what I'm getting. It doesn't appear I can select one or the other. I assume 4's results are based on the lemma. However, when I do the same search in 3 I get drastics differences from 4. Can someone explain?
Also in 3 I had the option of sending the report to the same window by highlighting the "report target" radio button. Is this possible in 4?

Right click a word:
Lemma is selected and Search this Resource will perform a speed search (the term is not actually used as v4 searches are speedy).
Select Greek and you can search the manuscript.
You can examine the query generated so that you can repeat this type of Search without going to the resource.
With LGNTI I got the same results in v3 and v4.

Dave,
Thanks for your response but I'm still getting some strange results. First of all, when I right click the selected word ("Rejoice" in Phil 4:4 for instance) I only see the option for English, Lemma, Morph and Strong's. There is no option for Greek, which I assume would be the manuscript form. (I have the ESV open and have selected the Interlinear tab which displays the interlinear within the ESV window.) When I select "search this resource" in the box to the left I get "74 results in 68 verses".
When I perform the same lemma search from the ESV Interlinear in v3 I get "52 hits in 48 verses". A search on the manuscript form yields "11 hits in 9 verses". Perhaps I've got some settings wrong but you can see the obvious conflicting information. Do you, or anyone else, have any ideas?
Also one on my original problems remains, I can limit the search results to a single window in v3 but don't seem to be able to do so in v4. Is there an option for this in v4?
If anyone can recommed a good screen capture program, preferrably free or close to it, I'll get it and send screen shots of what I'm experiencing. Much thanks in advance to any comments!

James,
Jing is free and you can capture images and movies.
Also, Snag It! by Jing is also on a 30 day trial and it's really nice.

James,
it appears that you get options based on what resource is being right clicked. It's true that the ESV rev gives you what you described; the NA27 gives you what you wanted; the "manuscript" version...and it appears that the screen shot above is from something like the Lexham NT...

James,
I just use the old fashioned "print screen" button on my computer.
Click "print screen" on the keyboard (no pressing alt or shift or ctrl required, at least not on my keyboard)
Open MS Paint
Paste
Select the area you want to display
Crop
Save.
It's fast, free, and already on your computer!

Thanks for the reference to Jing. I seem to have a problem there as well I can capture and paste into other programs but for some reason can't seem to paste into a response to posts here at Logos. Not sure what's wrong there but I'll try to resolve that on my own.
However, I still don't have a resolution or even an acknowledgement to my original problems from Libronix. 1. There appears to be inconsistencies in the results between v3 and v4 and judging from one of the responses here it's reproducible. Any idea what the problem is? 2. Is there a way within v4 to target the results to a single window as there is in v3? If not, shouldn't it be considered?
I really wish someone from Libronix would address this... please????

James,
Here is the answer as much as I can get what you're asking:
When you select text in the ESV for instance; you have the choice of English, Greek lemma or "morph" which I think is what you're referring to right? It consists of the lemma + the particular morphology of that word...hence; giving you the same form of the particularword in your search right?
And the second part of your question; can you target the same window....yes....but not the exact same tab...because that's a bible....not a search window..."targets" have been replaced with "send hyperlinks to this window"

Hey Robert!
Thanks for hanging in there with me. I think I figured it out. The real issue is that the interlinear in v4 doesn't provide a search on the manuscript form, just the lemma form. If I go to the NA27 and compare the results of those searches to v3 I get the same results. Also, thanks for the information on the second part of my question. I've got to play around with that to fully understand what you said but thanks!

The discrepancy arises because v3 uses 2 lemmas, χαίρω (52 in 48 verses) & χαίρομαι (22 in 22 verses) for "rejoice/glad" whereas v4 uses χαίρω [it's not 74 in 70 verses because 2 verses are common, hence 74 in 68].
