Seems like a Mac bug, I was able to click it but only the top left of the checkbox icon itself... thanks for the report!

No I know I have to 'click about a bit' is there a way to change the backgrounds to 'loop' or do I have to re-attach the background with the 'loop' reset?
After getting it checked, you do need to reapply to your item.
