Turabian formatting wrong or user error?
When Logos automatically adds a footnote with Turabian formatting set, the formatting appears incorrect.
take for instance the following which was generated by logos 9 set to Turabian. 8tha and 9th.
Russell, D. S. 1968. Between the Testaments. Revised Edition. Philadelphia: Fortress Press.
a proper Turabian footnote it seems would be formatted as follows
D. S Russell, Between the Testament (Philadelphia: Fortress Press, 1987).,42
Logos has a fair bit of incorrect formatting in this case from the name being in the incorrect order, parenthesis missing around publisher and date, and missing the page number at the end. Some other forum posts have indicated this is due to the book not having the page number but this is not the case as compare the ABA formatted footnote that logos generates.

Is there someway to correct the formatting on my end short of rewritting each foot note or is this a defect in the application that needs to be resolved?

This looks like what you are expecting. The format you are reporting is the resource citation. How are you getting what you see?

I am just copying from the text in the desktop app select text and then control C control V to paste as show in the image. Also including a copy of the program settings

I've just checked and with Turabian 8th I get page numbers in the citation while with Turabian 9th I don't

Thank you. This makes sense. We do have a case open for this issue with Turabian 9th. I don't have an estimate for when it will be resolved. I would recommend using 8th edition for now.

Thanks for this report. We were quite confused, until someone pointed out that Turabian 9th edition has two style approaches:
- Notes and Bibliography, which is primarily for footnotes;
- and Author-Date, which is intended for in-text citations.
The formatting above seems to be correct for the Author-Date style, but it makes sense that it doesn't match what you were expecting. Logos primarily uses third-party CSL libraries to automate citations, and the Notes-and-Bibliography version of Turabian 9th isn't available yet. We will make sure to add it in the future. In the meantime, we've updated the name of the style in the software to be more transparent (coming in 9.11), and you'll probably want to use 8th edition for now.
As always when using automated citations, check the formatting against your style guide for correctness (just as you would for spellcheck or grammar corrections).

With the broken Turabian 9th style, I've been using ChatGPT to fix my footnotes and bibliographies, which works great. Maybe integrating AI to create Turabian 9th citations would be a better approach, since CSL doesn't seem to have been updated for more than two years now?

It's far from perfect because of the word count for the configuration instructions, but with a few tweaks, it's been working for me.

No, not that advanced. I only have a chat with all the citation requests. ChatGPT first made some mistakes, but after correcting those, it's now working quite stable.

Indeed. I suspect that the individual styles get updated independent of CSL itself.
