LOGOS for Spouse

I recently set up LOGOS for my wife to use. I set up a simple interface - she would be overwhelmed with all the resources available. Except for George (who would like to teach her Greek and Hebrew Smile ), what resources would you suggest I set up for a simple layout that a non-scholar, Bible loving person - I chose a Study Bible, a one volume commentary, and a one volume Bible Dictionary. I could have installed a free competitor, but used the more powerful tool if she does have a deeper question.

What would you suggest for a non-scholarly layout?

Hi Floyd, when my wife was teaching a Bible study primarily from the Psalms, she used the TSK and I set her up with another Bible in the background with send hyperlinks here selected. I also setup a guide that only included commentaries, linked to her primary Bible. She enjoyed keeping the setup simple and usable.

This does bring up a good question... my understanding is that the Logos license is per person, not per device or household. If this is true, then I suspect your question is purely hypothetical.[:)]

Actually, no. Bob (the president of LOGOS) has indicated the account can be shared with a spouse, provided she is not using it professionally. For example, if both you and your spouse were pastors, then you would need separate licenses. But since Sandra, my wife, is just a casual user - a lay person by any definition - it falls within the guidelines that Bob has given.

Too bad they did not keep the Ferry running, though Canada is not a possibility right now - without passports. If you are ever in Buffalo or Rochester, let me know and perhaps we can share a meal.

Sounds like a very basic simple and easy layout that would be easy for even an non-computer user to use. You might want to show her how to "play" with it if she is interested and comfortable with the computer. I suggest showing her how to access "parallel" resources.
Possibly add a Bible Handbook and the Power Lookup and Information Panels (Information panel would depend on how you have it set up, it may be too much for her to start with).

You might ask her if she is interested in viewing some of the basic use videos to see if she wants to learn more.

My wife regularly reads on mine with a layout that includes the Bible in window (ESV but she knows how to switch versions with the right and left arrows).

The other window has a few tabs: ESV Study Bible, MacArthur study Bible, Her note file, and the Expositor's Bible Commentary.

Then off to the right I have the information window.

I actually end up using this layout a lot when I'm reading.

I also did a quick tutorial on how to do a passage guide and compare versions. Pretty much all she uses it for is reading. But over the last few years she has learned quite a bit from that foundation.

The legal language has been tightened, and Bob no longer makes the statments he made before. However, he has never explicitly renounced them either.

Logos is for ONE user. If you use a different email and password it would necessarily be a different account and not have accesss to the resources in the other account.
