Device still doesn't show up
I'm now on the stable release of the mobile app on my phone (Android). (There's a story here, but it's probably not relevant.) The problem I'm having is that the device will show up in my desktop app's library, but it does not list the Logos mobile app as having been installed. Similarly, on the Account > Manage Devices web page (https://www.logos.com/account/devices), the device is listed, but it does not have the Logos app icon next to it to indicate that the app has been installed on my phone. I would dearly love to manage downloads onto my phone from my desktop app, but nobody has been able to help me figure out why the desktop app does not recognize the installation. Please help.
Here's what the Manage Devices web page looks like. Notice on the far right, this page thinks I don't have the mobile app installed on my phone.
Here's the desktop app's library, showing no checkbox to install resources to my phone:

Hi Lew:
You could try these things (I'm guessing, not from specific experience):
- On the Note itself, download a resource. Force a Sync: Hamburger-->Sync. In Desktop, force a sync (click the faint circle to the left of the Layout button top-right). Check the resource's Information for the checkbox.
- Consider shortening the name of the Note on the off-chance that the extra-long name is somehow spooking it.
- Similarly, get the '+' out of the Note's name. I've seen special characters sometimes cause applications to act weird.

Thanks, Robert. All these things have been tried. And I see that I posted this to the wrong forum.
I originally posted this issue on the forums (maybe here), I was advised to contact customer support, then they eventually advised me to post here. It's been going on for a long time.

Hi Lew,
I am sorry to hear that this has been going on for so long.
I would like to investigate this further. Please send us your logs.
1. Open the app.
2. Tap the Menu icon (this icon has three horizontal lines).
3. Tap Help.
4. Press “Report a Problem”0 -

I'm wondering if there has been any progress in understanding this issue.
Thanks!

Lew,
We still have a ticket open for this issue. I am sorry it is still unresolved, but it is still on our radar.

I have had a similar problem except when I signed into the Logos App on my Samsung Galaxy phone it has never appeared as a device in the library or in the device section.
I am just acquiring a tablet in the next few days and will see if that appears.0 -
Interestingly, I will be activating a new phone tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath because, well, even if it worked, it's a long time without air. [;)]

I'll report how it goes.

Still no success. I'm going to guess it has to do with my account since this problem has persisted through at least 4 different phones. Some resolution would be nice.
In fact, I can't even get my latest phone to show up anywhere as I mention here:

The current device is good; the others have been decommissioned. But the problem had been in place while they were active. Your theory is a good one (regarding beta), but I've been off beta for a while. That was actually the first thing I tried months ago. But now that I think about it, I wonder if FORMERLY being on beta has messed up my data record somehow.
But you've inspired an idea: I've installed Verbum on my phone. I just want to see what happens. (Of course, nothing will happen as long as my phone doesn't show up at all, which is the other problem I mentioned in my previous post. FL has acknowledged a problem there and I expect it'll be fixed soon.)

The term "device" in the Library is slightly misleading, but probably the best choice in this circumstance. What is really meant is "installation," which includes:
- Device
- App
If things were working properly, you should see two "devices" listed: One for "Logos" on your phone, the other for "Verbum" on the same phone.

Agreed. But at this point, nothing shows up. 😭

I would think it is time to call support -- something is definitely wrong.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Yeah, I did that and they asked me to put something in the forum.

Hey Joe,
They're actually different issues; at least they show up in my experience as different things. For THIS one, I cannot manipulate downloaded resources from the desktop; plus, NOW (but not originally), the device does not even show up in my desktop's library.
For the other issue, the device was not showing up on the website at https://www.logos.com/account/devices. This latter issue seems to be partially fixed. (The device shows up on the website.) Perhaps they're related, but then it's puzzling why the other detail is fixed and this one is not.
