E-Book not properly downloading
I bought an e-book today and was able to download it to my iOS device but not my computer. I've restarted Logos a number of times, and run the "Update Now" command, but to no avail.
Something has happened however, for when I click the Library icon, the book shows up but tells me that it is not on my device. Strangely enough, when I click on the book, Logos tells me that "This resource is not currently available on this device, but here's a preview" and gives me the option of "downloading now", which doesn't work, or open in Web App, which does work. The preview given is strangely enough the entire text of the book. Even stranger is that at the end of the preview is this completely unrelated text which looks like general instructions given to the people who markup books for Faithlife:
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
➤ Of course, always be sure to first tag italics, foreign language fonts, or any other special styles that need to be preserved when you start applying Paragraph Styles.
➤ Chapter titles: tag with Paragraph style “Chapter Title”
➤ Chapter subtitles: tag with Paragraph style “chapter subtitle”
➤ Ch. #s: tag with Paragraph Style “chapter number”
➤ The first paragraph of the chapter: tag with Paragraph Style “first paragraph”
➤ Footnote reference markers: Character Style “superscript 11”
➤ Running heads for front matter elements should follow the pattern spelled out clearly in CMOS 1.94
➤ Running heads for the main body of text should generally follow these patterns
single-authored book: versorecto
book titlechapter title
multi-contributor book:author of thechapter title
chapter
This is spelled out in CMOS 1.95
➤ Running heads for back matter elements should follow the pattern spelled out clearly in CMOS 1.97
➤ Start chapters either verso or recto, unless they are the first chapter in the book or the first chapter within a part (in which case they should always start recto). See CMOS pgs. 4–5 for guidance on whether a particular book element needs to start recto or verso, or if it can start on either side.
➤ If you have questions about anything, ask Heather.
What's going on, and how am I able to get my book properly downloaded to my desktop Logos program? (The book is Denis Lamoureux's "I love Jesus and I accept Evolution"

This is the expected behavior when someone chooses a “skinny” install.
After clicking download, did you restart your computer? Did you intend to have a skinny install? Did you review your settings?

My settings have "Download New Resources" set to 'Yes". I restarted my computer after clicking download and that did nothing. When I filter by the book name, it shows up as "Not on this device". When I click on the book, it shows up as downloading, but remains cycling in an endless download.
I bought seven books yesterday, and they all downloaded, including one I bought after the one that is not downloading to see if there was a problem with the Logos program.0 -
Problem solved using this tip:

There's still the question of the extra text at the end of the book I mentioned earlier. Who should I contact so that the resource can have the extra text deleted and made ready for updating?0 -
Post with ATTN: KYLE at the begining of the title.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I wonder who Heather works for ... the publisher or Faithlife. Looks like it's digitizing SOP (especially since the Logos mobile ignores chapter starts; the heading can be at the bottom of the page).

Performing a google search, this appears to be in the original.

Since it is in the original, you would contact the publisher.

I guess this would be another eBook characteristic.JT (alabama24) said:Since it is in the original, you would contact the publisher.
- Any publisher delivered errors, no matter how egregious, are the Faithlife customer's responsibility to correct. Phone/email addresses available on request.
- Reader versions, however, may be corrected by Faithlife, if time permits.
- Research edition errors/typos, will be corrected, when the number of errors pile up too high.
Smiling.

actually, I don't know why the "report typo" feature wouldn't work for FLEB titles as well. It is my understanding that publisher typos (or in this case, errant material) are reported by FL to the publisher.
But yes, FL can't (and shouldn't) delete what the publisher included in the book (even when in error).
