Create New Smart Media
How do I do the following:
Create a template (smart media) for Bible verses and Lyrics that has...
- My chosen background
- Text that will have the same formatting each time I add a new song or Bible verse
- That I can then choose as the default media in the settings menu
Here's how I think you should be able to do it, and maybe you can, but I can't figure this out. Each time it changes the background, but the text formatting doesn't change.
- Set up a new song or Bible verse
- Add my chosen background as normal
- Format the text for each slide element (titles, text, verses, etc)
- Then use something like a right-click or a menu item that says "Make this default for Song/Bible verses" and have it the same as the chosen format of background and text for all future slides with songs or Bible verses.

You are right Kevin.
It is one of the frustrations of using Proclaim.
The 'Default Media' facility is essentially useless.
Your steps
- Set up a new song or Bible verse
- Add my chosen background as normal

are exactly what we need.
Compare with what I have to do now not just once per service, but for every song.
- Set up a new song.
- Choose the background
- Change the title style
- Change the hymn number style (title frame)
- Reposition credits (title frame)
- Reposition and resize the hymn number frame (verse frame)
- Change the hymn number style (verse frame)
- Reposition the main content frame
- Change the main content style
If we could do it the way you suggest it would save me hours each week.

^ so after setting it up in your presentation, right-click on the slide canvas and hit customize media. Then save the media. After saving it go to settings and choose it as the default.
Then it will come in as the default for new items created. (background, textfield position and, style)You can also do this per screen too. (to make easy lowerthirds for example)
However, we have a new feature that we haven't released yet, which will cut out the last two steps. We are adding a 'Set as default' button to the context menu to make it easier! Hopefully we will release it soon, we are still doing some testing of some other changes that are blocking it from shipping,

Mine didn't crash, but when I tried to add my own background video loop it wouldn't upload. I get an error that says it failed to upload. I cancelled the customize smart media and the video loop is in the library, but when I try to customize and add the background it won't let me add any background. It just shows the black/grey checkerboard background that shows it's nonexistent.

Thanks for the report, Mike. I was able to get this to happen by clicking "Save" when the publish window was already open. I've made a ticket to get this fixed.
