Proclaim has stopped recording our sermons!

Hi all,

We've had no issues having proclaim record our sermons until now.  After taking the presentation off air, we are hit with this notice in the "Prepare Audio" pop up box: "Unable to find the recording.  Is your microphone enabled?"

This is happening both on my MacBook at home as well as the Mac at church.  I've checked both machines and Proclaim is ticked in the privacy/microphone settings.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance - Steve

Thanks for the report, and sorry for the disruption here.

This is working for me as long as I have an active device connected. A couple times I have disconnected a device and Proclaim chose a default that was technically active, but that I wasn't using (eg NDI Audio). That got me to the same thing that's happening to you. We've got a development case to investigate further and come up with a solution.

A couple things you can check here:

    1. Are you able to make a test recording? You can try that in the audio settings.
    2. Check the connection between the mic and audio interface and make sure you've got a good connection.
    3. If your interface has two mic inputs, try switching them and see if that makes any difference.

In any case, we'd love to look at your logs. Would you please submit logs from the Help menu in Proclaim? A screenshot of your Proclaim audio settings would also be helpful.

    Thanks Brandon,

Have just submitted the log file.

    1. No it won't allow me to make a test recording.

    2. On both mics I've tried testing using the internal mic on the Mac - there are no issues with either mic with other programs.

    3. On our church Mac I did that and neither worked.

Thanks for looking into this.  Very confusing!

Thanks for checking. I can see where the issue is in your logs.

Unfortunately, the logging isn't super helpful. It appears we're having trouble getting signal from the system mic, and Mac code is just responding with "error". We'll need to do a bit more investigation on our end and get back to you next week.

Again, I'm sorry for the disruption here. I'd recommend installing any pending updates and restarting your computer if you haven't already. Could be that something in the system just needs the jog that a restart provides.

Thanks.  Strangely enough I just created an entirely new presentation (rather than duplicating like usual) and the recording worked this time.
