Feature: Improved Speed

I'm on a Mac. How do I find the bibleindex file?
That is in the Data folder unless you did a fresh install of L10. It is not used in L10, so you can delete it if present.
Wow good to know that's a real gem Dave! I just deleted my BibleIndex folder, it was 2.67GB! FL should have their version update program delete that if it's not used any more, some people are really pressed for space!

I'm guessing you've already been here, without success (as above). But for others, as to location of files:
Those instructions are not working for me. I am on a Mac. Here is what it says to navigate to:
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/random/ResourceManager/Resources
I cannot find a Library folder in my username folder.
What am I missing?iMac (2019 model), 3Ghz 6 Core Intel i5, 16gb Ram, Radeon Pro Graphics. 500GB SSD.

The Library folder on Mac is not visible by default.
See https://www.lifewire.com/os-x-is-hiding-your-library-folder-2260833 for some ways to enable it

Thanks, Graham. I have only dug into something like that a couple of times and forgot.

I've got similar problems. After upgrading, completing indexing, restarting Logos 10 a few times, Logos 10 takes about 20-40 seconds to open or close a resource. So many delays with "not responding" and egg-timer showing. The CPU usage is less than 10% while not responding. I'm running Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10600KF CPU @ 4.10GHz with 32GB Ram and 1TB M2 SSD on 150Mbps broadband. I hope it is just teething problems, and that it will get faster. But I love the 'Add to Library' feature.
The latest update has certainly fixed the slow opening and closing of resources. Thanks for the quick fix, it is very much appreciated.

My overall impression is that the speed is faster on MacBook Pro M1. That's really nice. Well done.
However the timeline of FSB infographics is extremely slow in displaying the graphics. I wonder why.

The update did fix many beach balls on Mac for me. The program loads just as fast with 6 resources open as it does with 30... it now takes about 30 seconds, where before it was 45 seconds.
Thanks much!

I've noticed the FSB timeline issue on my Intel Mac, also. Everything else runs great.

Speed improvements can vary depending on your unique hardware configuration..
My MacBook Pro M1 14 was stolen from within the church this last Sunday (can you believe someone stealing from the pastor in church) and I have to replace it, but can only afford to replace it wit’s the M2 Air.
should I upgrade from 256 to 512 storage or upgrade from 8gb to 16gb RAM.
I can unfortunately only afford one of those upgrades on the base model.I use my MacBook almost exclusively for Sermons and Logos with lots of multitasking.

If it were me, I'd probably go for the increased storage. I've got a fairly large library, and I keep bumping into the limits of my hard drive.
However, if your library isn't taking up as much space, the ram is probably a better choice.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

My recommendation would be this... Just get the base model. (alternatively, get the ram)
The RAM on the silicon chips work differently than how we traditionally understand RAM to work. 8 GB is actually plenty for Logos on the M1 air. The new architecture incorporates a shared memory pool (unified memory) that is both faster and more efficient. It also has a higher memory bandwidth.
Now. having said that... The downside is you're stuck with what you get with the integrated chips. You can't upgrade later.
For the record, you can add an external SSD for MUCH CHEAPER than you can upgrade Apple's internal drives.
So for me, I'd be comfortable with that base model (I own the M1 Air 8gb 256). Logos runs wonderfully on it. If I wanted to guarantee a little future... I'd get the RAM and deal with an external SSD later on.
