BUG **MAJOR BUG** - Footnotes do not scroll and are cutoff.

Footnotes are essential.  However footnotes cannot be fully accessed in LOGOS 10.

The overflow is cut-off without an ability to scroll and see the rest of the footnote.  The full footnote cannot be read.  This is detrimental in many cases.

.

A work-around that works sometimes is to drag the mouse over the footnote until the mouse is well below it and the text his highlighted, then copy the text and paste it somewhere else so it can be read.  That is unacceptable.

I'm spending too much time trying to figure out how to access the full footnote text instead of actual study and preparation.  Please fix this.

I agree this is a serious bug, however, this affects footnotes in only in preview mode (hover over footnote indicator). If one switches to page mode (columns = 1 in the panel menu) and selects "show footnotes on page" in the panel menu, you bypass the bug completely.

Thanks for the tip MJ.  Settings the columns to one or more makes for difficult and unnatural reading to me, but it does, like you said, bypasses the bug and shows the whole footnote on the page instead of an unscrollable pop-up window.  That is much better than not being able to access the whole footnote.  Thanks again.  Hopefully this bug will be fixed immediately.

Can someone from FL please respond to this bug as it has been reported several times (including in beta) and is urgent? This literally should be an SR update.

Thank you, M.J. Smith, for information about the work-around.

I used it extensively last evening.

It greatly slows the progress of reading scholarly text, but it sure helps.

I find it does not "bypass the bug completely." It seems to work only for numbered footnotes. It does not recognize footnotes designated by an asterisk, for example, as often occurs in the George N. H. Peters text, The Theocratic Kingdom, at the end of many "Observations."

Fortunately for this text, I have it in hard copy, close at hand. This is not the case for me with other resources.

This BUG needs to be fixed, and out of respect to the many Logos users who have called attention to this flaw, Logos needs to step in here to verify their awareness of this serious BUG and tell us plainly when and how they intend to correct it. So far, their intentional deafness is embarrassing!

The cries of the many I believe have been heard. A recent update appears to have addressed this complaint. I'm able to scroll these footnotes. It would have been polite to officially announce this fact.

I'm able to scroll these footnotes.

     I still can't (10.1 Beta 3).

    Hi DJ,

SineNomine, I'm not ignoring you. I'm in the process of composing a response. I'm using Amber to hopefully embed a screen recording. I see that FL has finally responded, that's progress. I don't know why my rig is responding without a hitch.

I don't know why my rig is responding without a hitch.

It's worked on the Mac for a while (L10).  But not sure as designed:

    - Clicking on a long footnote, displays a popup with chopped text and no indication of 'more'.

    - Clicking on the popup switches to another popup, with scrollbar, and full text.

Correct behavior, initial popup with scrollbar?

I tried to insert a screen recording. I can't get it to work. Sorry, but it would demonstrate that for some strange reason I am not having the problem everyone else is reporting.

    Thanks, MJ.

Another work around is to use Reading View with "Show footnotes on page" checked as MJ notes on the panel menu of the resource you want to see the footnote of. The page displays with several columns and the footnotes show more or less as they would be in a print copy. I find it easier to read than Page Mode.

Hope this helps while they get this fixed.
