Losing material entered into Notes

In Mobile, I have noticed on a number of occsions that after entering info in a note window that if I immediately check the note pop-up, the just entered info is not present in the note...that is, it is gone.

I think this occurs due to there being a lag in the write process. I have noticed that the top right has a place where the status is displayed: Last saved __ ago; Saving...; etc. If you close the window before that report says "All changes saved"--and that can take a few seconds--then you may be truncating your precious effort. Jsyk

Fwiw, I have never noticed such a lag in the desktop app...so far.

FWIW, I also see a lag when editing a note in the mobile app, but not in the desktop app.

As a result, I try to use the mobile app as if it were read-only, and take paper notes for later editing in the desktop app.

If you switch to another tab and back, does the note content reappear?

Jack and David, what device are you seeing this lag on? Are you creating the note from the Notes tool or the selection menu?

I'm unable to reproduce this issue at the moment, so any additional information is appreciated to help us investigate deeper.

    Hello, Ali:

I use a nearly-new iPad 12.9 with 2tb memory. The lag is the same whether the WiFi connection is 50- or 500 Mbps, and whether the Note is new or edited.

    1. Tap the icon of an existing Note.
    2. Tap Open to open it. (The editing panel will open, but the desired Note is not there--another recently-discussed issue.)
    3. Go back to the original screen, to the original Note. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to see the Note, opened for editing, on the edit panel.
    4. Edit text and/or highlighting as usual.
    5. Tap Done to finish editing.
    6. When I went back to the original text to see if the edit on the same Note.
    7. After about half a minute trying to reopen the Note by tapping on the icon (The app kept trying to select the verse for highlighting, lookup, and other functions. Was the app taking care of other housekeeping as it updated everything?) the Note reopened, with the changed text.

This is the kind of frustration that caused me to treat the mobile app as a read-only tool, while taking paper notes for later updates on the desktop app.

I will love Logos till I die, and will work around any limitations, because it is so much better at searching, and better than taking notes on the margin of my paper Bible.

Thank you for the details, Jack. This issue has been fixed in the most recent iOS beta 23.0 (65). It will ship to stable shortly.

However, it looks like David is using Android. David, are you experiencing this same issue on an Android device? I cannot reproduce it on Android.
