What is the relationship between https://www.logos.com/product/18438/the-literal-exposition-of-isaiah-a-commentary-by-st-thomas-aquinas and https://www.logos.com/product/222109/commentary-on-isaiah?

bump for attention 2
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I'm afraid that the situation is rather complicated, but we're working on it. I will post here as soon as we have a definitive answer.

Thank you.

I have a similar question about the difference(s) between https://verbum.com/product/222033/commentary-on-romans and the version in https://verbum.com/product/189682/aquinas-institute-opera-omnia-project-bible-commentaries.

Any updates? With the Opera Omnia shipping this Friday, this question has become more urgent.

Then, of course, there is also https://stpaulcenter.com/product/vol-30-commentary-on-isaiah-latin-english/.
These seem to all be the same work translated by the same person and published in different years with different covers (and probably different pagination).
The least expensive one comes with an introduction that the other two seem to lack. It is also a Logos Reader Edition, for reasons unknown to me.

It appears that the definitive answer now is that the original pages from the first post in this thread are two product pages for the exact same resource now being offered at the same price and shipping on the same day. I wonder which cover is correct...?
Also, I really wish I knew how it related to https://stpaulcenter.com/product/vol-30-commentary-on-isaiah-latin-english/.

I prepub orders in for both because I wasn't sure which one would make it into production. But now that both are shipping soon, I'm not sure which one to get?

Yes, because both PDPs are (now) for the same book. Same ISBN and other publication data... the only difference I can find is that https://www.logos.com/product/18438/the-literal-exposition-of-isaiah-a-commentary-by-st-thomas-aquinas is listed as a Logos Research Edition and the other as a Logos Reader Edition. So pre-order the Research Edition? It shouldn't matter, though, since the Resource ID is the same; it's just that one of the PDPs is wrong about the edition, just as one of them supplies the wrong cover.

That's helpful. Thanks.

I have good news! This is shipping at the end of the month!
Both product pages are attached to the same book, so if you ordered from either one, you will get the same commentary. You will not be charged twice if you ordered both, and we have adjusted the price so that both are the same price.
You can still preorder to get the discount before it's released on the 28th.

To make something clear: this edition does not include the Latin. It is only the English translation.

More good news: this is a research edition. We will update the product page to reflect this.

So the elephant in the room. Why do we habe two product pre-publication pages for the one book?

Donald, thank you for the clarifications above. Which--if either--cover will we get?

Originally, two editions were listed. Well, originally, going back plenty of years, one of the listings was for English AND Latin.

In light of this conversation, it was a bit amusing to get the email this morning still peddling this as two different resources:
"We’ve got two resources from St. Thomas Aquinas on the book of Isaiah coming soon to Verbum. They’re available to everyone on February 28, but you can start saving today when you pre-order."

I apologize for the email. There was miscommunication internally on our end.
There is only one resource, and anyone who preorders either will receive it, at the same price. It will have the newer cover.
After this ships, we will retire one of the product pages.

I apologize for the email
No worries. It should help keep Customer Service busy for a few days!
For my part, I've had my PP bid in on this for about ten and a half years, I'm just glad to finally see it shipping. This and the corresponding Jeremiah volume have been long-awaited. They're the two oldest remaining entries among my PP orders.
