Huge problems with Logos 10 on the surface 7 pro+

I have a Surface Pro 7 (64 bit / Intel Core i5 /  8 gigs RAM) and personally have no difficulties using it with Logos, although I have no idea why you would... sorry I can't help there!

I have a Surface Pro as do my children and we all run Logos on our machines without any problems at all.  In fact, I have never had a problem installing and using Logos on Surface Pro 6, 7, 7+ and 8. It is very reliable and stable.  My advice would be to uninstall and try reinstalling it using one of the methods outlined at this link.

since the Surface is new, i'll may go with a full delete of all personal data and a fresh win install first, and than a reinstall of Logos

Follow the instructions carefully on the link I provided.  I usually use Method 2.  Make sure you have a backup of your files from your PC

I have used the most current version of Logos on a Surface Pro 1, SP4, and now SP7 without the problems you are describing. However, I never did the i3, I have always bought the highest processor since I tend to use for several years before upgrading.

If it is still new and able to be exchanged, My personal recommendation is if you want a quick portable machine for Logos10, you may want to upgrade processor. RAM and SSD. SSD capacity (plus the largest MicroSD chip I can find) has been my #1 reason to upgrade.

Hi, i deleted logos completly with all data und remaining stuff and did a clean reinstall.

i followed the instructions posted obove carefully and closely (method 2). Installation went well, but the problem is still there. There are not too long loading times when opening a book or so. But scrolling is still a cruelty, half a second delay, strong stuttering. Esp.  in the sermon preparation tool, which i use a lot, its really heavy.

I checked also the CPU usage while scrolling - it is about 15-20% distributed over all cores - so i think it is not hardware related RAM is 60%

Well it may be the i3 chip.  I would never recommend i3.

Geekbench Browser shows 13th Generation i3 single core score of 2184, which is a bit faster than 2171 for an 11th Generation i7 (while noticeably slower than 3076 for 13th Generation i9). MultiCore 13th Generation i3 score of 7270 is a bit faster than 7135 for 9th Generation i9 (& substantially slower than 21498 for 13th Generation i9) => https://browser.geekbench.com/processor-benchmarks

The 11th Generation i3 Single Core 1508 with Multi Core 2919 is similar to the 4th Generation i7 (released in 2013).

i may solved the issue: in the default programm settings, hardware acceleration was off.

By turning it on, the scrolling issue is almost gone. Still in complex situations it is still there a little bit. But now i can work with it.

Since i cant edit my post:

i also noticed the GPU is used now. While scrolling it is between 15-30%, same for CPU.

Before, there was no GPU usage at all.

I am working on a sermon the last 3h hours (a lot of open tabs) on the surface device, runs mostly smooth and well now!

Unfortunately my win is keeping installing the old driver via automatic update, so i needed to manually shut down the driver installation of the win update systems (instructions can be found by google) So with the newest intel driver, installed manual --> its fine. Otherwise Logos freezes with the old driver.

Waiting for a customized update from the manufacturer is notoriously unreliable whilst the manual Intel update will rectify matters and keep any customization.

This raised my eyebrows, too. Been an AMD convert for awhile now, so I may be out of touch, but i3 seems like ancient architecture. I can't recall the last time I heard anyone mention it. Even i5 seems a bit behind the curve. GL

i5 has continued to grow and my gaming laptop i5 is ample evidence of its abilities, even in lower thermal heat varieties more suitable to commercial laptops.

i3 is still perceived as a budget choice.

I am on the surface pro 7+ I7 16gb ram. The issues I have all center around touch screen actions. Mostly, Logos just hangs for a god minute when selecting from a drop down. So I jsut snapped on the KB.

Logos does have a draw on screen feature which is fun.
