Mesopotamian apkallu
I am writing a paper on the Mesopotamian apkallu. My professor recomended all students to get the gold standard on this topic. I cannot find out what he is talking about and I do not own the Dictionary of Deities and Demons in the Bible (DDD). I cannot find an entry in Lexham Bible Dictionary but only two meager mentions on this topic. I have read some thoughts on this being covered in Mike Heiser's work but cannot figure out what book of his covers this. Anyone know? Also what are some resources on this topic?

Heisers book "Demons" goes into quite a bit of detail on this. He also extensively footnotes to other sources. But as you know, the best resources are not always inexpensive.

Heiser looks good, also his other works besides "Demons".
If you need preview pages, look these books up on Google Books, and search them for apkallu. Usually it gives you a couple of lines of context, sometimes entire pages.
