Ok I'll take over in the light of the fact that the question doesn't seem relevant to anyone else.
I think a long time ago we had a bug that caused this.. If you click on it and check the alignment menu is 'single line' checked? If it is, uncheck it and that should work. If not, it may be that bug. Which I think can be resolved by adding a new song service item, and then re-choosing the same song, and deleting the old service item

I have never noticed that 'Single Line' box before and, to my knowledge, have never used it. Who can account for the others on the presentation team though? ;-)
Unticking the box did not change anything but your second suggestion did the trick.
If nobody from the developers is going to check this forum might I suggest that it is closed down?
