page number alternatives?

I know this has been addressed... but I need a workaround. Anyone found a way to get page numbers outside logos?

I'm on a Mac using:

Most of the academic referencing standards have instructions on how to reference electronic sources without page numbers. Many Logos academic resources have page numbers. Can you provide some examples of books in Logos you are having trouble referencing?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Your original question said "outside Logos" so I assume you already know about turning on page numbers in Logos.

But that only works for books that are indexed by page number, which is generally only the Logos Research edition books and Logos Reader edition books. Ebooks do not have page numbers.

If a book has page numbers, you'll see this in the info panel:

If a book has page numbers in Logos, then copying with citations should include the page number.

Or you can turn on page numbers and see these visual makers of the page boundaries in the text:

If the Logos book does not have page numbers, then as someone else pointed out you can sometimes find them in Google Books or the sample pages visible on Amazon, if you're lucky and the passage you're referencing is on one of those visible pages. If not, then you're probably out of luck, short of getting hold of a physical copy in a library or asking a librarian to look it up for you (some reference librarians will do this for you, but perhaps only for an institution that you are a member of or an alumnus of).

The style guide likely provides an answer... but Universities and style guides should be more responsive to this situation.

    get page numbers outside logos

I have found that https://books.google.com/?hl=en has scans of many books. I can search the Google Book for a quote that is in the Logos File to get a page number. Google Books are 1) only scans so do NOT have all the advantages of a Logos Resource, and 2) the Google inventory often contains samples and NOT the whole book. so it is hit or miss with finding page numbers.

Thanks, I have used this before, forgot about that!
